briankeith -> Brian's Mountain Lodge Retreat (10/16/2005 12:32:42 PM)

Being in nature has a certain closeness to God. He has created all nature for us to use and enjoy. When up there, I always find myself to be free. Free to escape the darkness of the world around me and to really enjoy life.

Step across the hearth into my mountain lodge hidden in the pines. The home fire is always burning here, the fire is eternally stoked by God's passionate love for your soul. I want to share the bright warmth of fellowship with my friends contrasting from the cold darkness in this world. Let this lodge be a retreat for those needing love and encouragement along the journey. Come inside for peaceful hugs and happy smiles for your heart. All are welcome here, including you silly people!! LOL!!

Hey Brian. Long time no see!

I wish I could stay but it's almost 1 am here and I've already been falling asleep in front of the computer. I've been snoring, so Joan told me when she woke me up. Just wanted to say hi before I shut down the computer for the night. Have a great day.

Hi Trish!!

(((((((((((((((((((((TRISH)))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Mmmm.. I thought I would start my own thread so I would be able to just come here most of the time. I really don't have much time anymore to go through all the threads to see my friends.

You have a good sleep girl!!

WhiteRoseBlessings -> RE: Brian's Mountain Lodge Retreat (10/16/2005 1:09:03 PM)

Hey Brian! I love mountain lodges!

briankeith -> RE: Brian's Mountain Lodge Retreat (10/16/2005 1:15:30 PM)

Shar? Shar-mar? Ummmm Sharon!!!! I remember you!!

Hi girl!! How are you?

Hey, you like the mountain stone fire place??? I hand picked every rock there from places I've been. And look up here. Those are the names of the children that has touched my heart through the years carved into that beam. And over there is a special beam with my children's name carved in them.

WhiteRoseBlessings -> RE: Brian's Mountain Lodge Retreat (10/16/2005 1:20:46 PM)

Pretty cool, Brian! [:D] Where are some of the places from where you gathered all the beautiful stones for the fireplace?

And . . . so as not to get Sharon (awed) and I confuzzled . . . I'm Sharon-Marie (but Shar or Shar-Mar will also do very nicely!) [;)]

briankeith -> RE: Brian's Mountain Lodge Retreat (10/16/2005 1:23:11 PM)

Hey!! Hi!!

Come on over and sit down. This table and chair set my son and I carved out of oak. Whew!! It took us 6 months to finish it!!

briankeith -> RE: Brian's Mountain Lodge Retreat (10/16/2005 1:29:48 PM)

I always like the name Shar. It's a beautiful name!!!

Mmmm let me see.....that one there I got from a river...oh! The Susquehanna river and that one my oldest son got from the back yard and mmmmm..that one I got when I took a hike through Maine one winter.

mslaurie -> RE: Brian's Mountain Lodge Retreat (10/16/2005 1:33:03 PM)

No mountains here, but I do love to be outdoors. Especially on a beautiful mid 80's clear sky day, like today.

briankeith -> RE: Brian's Mountain Lodge Retreat (10/16/2005 1:37:56 PM)

mmmm it's 60 degress here right now.

Hey! Have you ever been to Arkansas?? It's REALLY beautiful there!!!

How is everything down there now?

mslaurie -> RE: Brian's Mountain Lodge Retreat (10/16/2005 2:03:59 PM)

I have been through Arkansas. It is very pretty there. Parts of Louisisana are beautiful to.

Everything is good. We have WAY WAY too many people in Baton Rouge, traffic is horrible, the stores are out of everything. It will be okay though.....

briankeith -> RE: Brian's Mountain Lodge Retreat (10/16/2005 2:10:49 PM)

So you guys have everything you need??

mslaurie -> RE: Brian's Mountain Lodge Retreat (10/16/2005 2:18:22 PM)

We need more places to live [:D]

You can't find anything to rent right now.

briankeith -> RE: Brian's Mountain Lodge Retreat (10/16/2005 2:24:44 PM)

mmmm...seems to be a good time and place for a few work and witness teams to come down there and build some new homes!!

I think our church has had a team down there already, but I'm not sure.

mslaurie -> RE: Brian's Mountain Lodge Retreat (10/16/2005 2:28:05 PM)

Oh it is an excellent time for that.

The whole country has been great about sending things down here.

I can't even imagine on Friday having a job, a house, a life and then Tuesday having nothing.

briankeith -> RE: Brian's Mountain Lodge Retreat (10/16/2005 2:31:20 PM)

I can relate a little with coming home and not having a house. Back in 89? I think, I lost everything to a house fire.

So, do YOU have everything you need though?

mslaurie -> RE: Brian's Mountain Lodge Retreat (10/16/2005 2:37:51 PM)

Oh yes, I am fine. We were very blessed. We didn't lose anything but power for a couple hours.

briankeith -> RE: Brian's Mountain Lodge Retreat (10/16/2005 2:45:43 PM)

Oh good. I'm so glad to hear that!!![:D]

I've often wondered what me as a person could do to help down there. I mean if I could help just one person or family, that would be great!! But I'm a more hands on kind of person. I would actually like to know someone who needs help and come down there and do what I can for them. I could fix things, build things and all that stuff. I would grab my bible and tools and go!!

mslaurie -> RE: Brian's Mountain Lodge Retreat (10/16/2005 2:52:45 PM)

I am sure right now it would not be to hard to find someone to help.

Above_All -> RE: Brian's Mountain Lodge Retreat (10/16/2005 2:56:34 PM)

(((((Brian!!!!)))))

You made it! The place looks great! I haven't been in the mountains since...shees, I can't even remember. I brought some POG and macadamia nuts for your new place. And to celebration and make this place official...

Trishy pulls out her water cannon from behind her and lands a BIG one on Brian and his guests. She quickly takes cover behind one of the trees.

Muahahahahaha! [sm=funny.gif]

Above_All -> RE: Brian's Mountain Lodge Retreat (10/16/2005 2:57:55 PM)

Hi Laurie!

mslaurie -> RE: Brian's Mountain Lodge Retreat (10/16/2005 3:27:04 PM)

Hey Trish....

So, water cannons in a lodge with a fire place huh? Very interesting.

briankeith -> RE: Brian's Mountain Lodge Retreat (10/16/2005 3:33:34 PM)

( me stands there holding a newly replanted bean plant and was wondering over to the sink for water but now I don't have to!! LOL!!!)

Hahahaha......hi Trishy!!!! I knew you would be up to something!! LOL!!!

Anybody need a towel??

I was showing my youngest how to replant his bean plant. And how you should water it right after you replant and what do ya know? The water was provided for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!

briankeith -> RE: Brian's Mountain Lodge Retreat (10/16/2005 4:39:25 PM)
