quote: ORIGINAL: magdaleine I slept 2 1/2 hours last night/this morning. I guess that balances out the 14 hours yesterday. That's about how much I slept last night. ((Maggie)) ((Roberta)) quote:
I had to call for my back-up person to help with the cooking today. I did get some of the house clean, but I have a long ways to go. Roberta, I'm glad you have a back-up person. You were smart to plan ahead that way. quote:
I'm loving my new phone, however. New toys are fun and I haven't had one for a while. Every day I'm finding new things that I like about it. I recently bought a Blackberry. It's the same model as my work-issued Bberry, so I am fairly comfortable with it. I failed to ask permission from dh to buy it, so it's kind of a thorn in his side, he feels disrespected when he sees it. There's a bunch of OCD stuff (rituals) associated with buying electronics, for dh. quote:
We moved to a bigger town over a year ago and it took me months to muster up the courage to drive. When I finally did, I decided I would drive to a nearby island. Made it across the two large bridges(don't like them, either) and came up on the first intersection. Witnessed a head on collision right smack in front of me! I had to literally pull over and pull myself together. Ouch. I, too, hope you managed to keep driving after that incident. I don't like San Francisco's weather, but I love the city. I think my fear of earthquakes would prevent me living there, though - and it's way too cold for dh. Chicago I've only seen once, and that was mostly the train station. Not impressed, but I didn't give the place a fair shake. NYC I love and would live there again in a minute. I've never lived more than an hour away from a major metropolis. I don't know how I would adjust to that. Yesterday was a bunch of drama. The comedian who was supposed to perform at the Palm Springs private party ended up claiming his car had been damaged in an accident. He asked for a ride to PS with us, which dh was unable to allow for OCD reasons. We ended up renting him a car (for which he reimbursed us, at least). I'm hoping it gets back to the rental offices in one piece. His performance was not bad at all, but he was so unprofessional offstage that dh won't be able to hire him again. Also, we really didn't get to see much of Palm Springs b/c we spent a couple of hours detouring to where he lives, renting the car for him, etc. And we later pieced together from various things that he probably doesn't own a car at all. [&:] So, it was a frustrating day. Bad for dh's anxiety, and just tiring for me.
