I just accidentally deleted an iPhone app I spent four days developing and testing and which was ready for uploading to my church website. When I was uploading it, the web server suddenly locked out and my uploader went haywire frantically trying to send (and resend and resend) at lightning speed files that couldn't be received. In trying to stop the uploading, I accidentally deleted all the app files... AND the programming software I used to create the app.

Worse yet, I didn't BACK IT UP like I was supposed to.

In the past, I would have screamed a volley of naughty words, thrown a tantrum and mentally kicked myself in the pants for the rest of the day. Now I realize that this is something that happens every day with computer users all over the planet. While frustrating, it's not unusual. I thank the Recovery International support group, "Mental Health Through Will-Training" by the late Dr. Abraham Low and Celebrate Recovery for that turnaround.

It stinks having to start all over again after I tested the app and it worked like a charm. But at least I created the basic app lickety-split with the easy-to-use software, and I know I can re-create it in like lickety-split manner.

Has anyone else had a file or program you worked hard get raptured on you? While "Left Behind", I still have a second chance to redo the app.

My computer died beyond help last year and I lost stuff that I hadn't bothered to back up... Glad you're not beating yourself up about it!

Richard, was it you who was asking about BPD (borderline personailty disorder)? Don't know if you saw my post, but I was diagnosed with it earlier this year.

Having a real downer of a day. Lots of tears; feeling discouraged and hopeless; silly regrets about the past; fear of a future that doesn't seem worth living for. Am I suicidal? No. Just very depressed.

I would appreciate your prayers. Thank you.

((((Edith)))) praying for you. How are you today?

Four medical appointments in 5 days are probably 3 too many for me! However, I didn't really have much choice in them...

Saw my psychiatrist on Thursday. We've decided that it's worth my trying some meds that I've taken before to help stabilise my mood a little. He gave me a prescription for a very low dose, as he wants to start me of gradually. I came home, started to sort the doses out in my pill keepers and dropped the bottle. I lost about 20 tablets and they fell through the gap in the floorboards. Ahhh well!

Saw my psychologist on Friday. Not really a lot to say about that. She's off this week, so I have a break.

Had my swine flu jab on Saturday.

Today I had to make an emergency appointment to see my dentist. I've broken a tooth somehow and I was putting off going to the dentist until my check up in a couple of weeks (the tooth didn't really hurt). However, I also lost a filling on Saturday night ~ and that did hurt so I phoned this morning for an appointment. Dentist has sorted that tooth out for me and is going to check the other one properly at my check up (though he said to go in if it starts hurting.

I haven't posted here in a couple of days, because I've been busy. My relative was visiting from out of town and it's been pretty hectic around here. She went home yesterday, so it should be more calmer now.

Yeah, right!

Today: Get carpets cleaned, do house cleaning, wash bedding, do other laundry, start Thanksgiving food preparations.

Tuesday: Take relative to two medical appointments, continue cleaning house and Thanksgiving food prep, put up with nitpicky, perfectionist relative who is coming over to help out.

Wednesday: Go to store to get last minute perishables, cleaning, cooking, put up with relative.

Thursday: Cooking, serving dinner, lots of family.

As you can see, it's going to be a busy week. For that reason, I won't be able to be here until Friday. I hope and pray that you'll have a blessed Thanksgiving Day!

It's tiring just read that.
