Frio Suite by Phil Keaggy & Jeff Johnson

Just got it in the mail today.A brilliant combination of talent.

W.S. - I love Keaggy, but I haven't heard this combo. Thanks for the tip!

No problem!

I've listened to that album three or more times this weekend and I gotta say I'm pretty impresssed! I think this is the best instrumental album Johnson has done in this decade (as far as my ears are concerned) and Keaggy's guitar work helped toward that. When I initialy heard the first track I wondered if the album was such a good idea (sounding very easy listening) but my fears where quickly calmed with the remaining tracks. If you've ever heard a "wave radio" station that mixes up new age music and light rock like Peter Gabriel, this would fit that radio format perfectly. Some of Keaggy's electric guitar work on this album remind me of Tim Brady (not that most people know who that is).

Currently in my cd player:

Every Band Has A Shonen Knife Who Loves Them (a 1989 tribute album to Shonen Knife with the likes of L7, Sonic Youth, Lunachicks, etc)
