Hopefully it will be when I get home. I've been putting off running the wood-burner. The filter for the humidifier has been on order for a while, and is supposed to arrive today. Without the humidifier, the wood-burner dries out the house too much for the guitars.

I had to smile at the concern...for the guitars
I remember when we used to go to my sister's and they were living the hippie life and heated by burning wood and they also cooked on a woodburnig cook stove.
My skin and lips would always get dried and cracked and it actually was uncomfortable to my sinuses.

I knew y'all would want to know that.

Welcome home to your thread Gary!

LOL! I know that feeling. After church, when we go to lunch, WHN always says it's cold so we need to hurry and get his "baby" home. He isn't talking about me

Hi Ray, Sharon and Karlie

I have a dulcimer that I have had for 30 plus years. The glue has turned to powder. I still have it and I sometime think that I should find someone to re-glue it.

The problem I have in the winter time is the corner of my fingernails will crack my skin, because the skin is so dry. It is very painful. I have to keep my nails real short.

When they're worth thousands of dollars each, and will literally crack if the humidity isn't high enough, you do tend to 'baby' them. If they get too cold, or warmed up too quickly, the finish will be damaged. It's best to let it warm up slowly with the guitar in its case.

Any reputable guitar shop should be able to do that.

Any irreputable shop could probably do it too, but it would be wise to pick the reputable one.

That's what he says too. He is sooooo careful and just babies his guitars. When I tease him that he worries more about his guitars getting hurt than me, he says I'll heal...lol.

Hi Sharon, Ray and Denny,

I am back from spending the last four days at my sisters. What is normally a 3 hour trip took me six hours due to a blizzard. I even got stuck pulling into the driveway.

Otherwise it was a quiet trip and the trip back was with dry roads.

My BIL had to work till noon today. We opened gifts after he got home and then had dinner. I left shortly after that in order to get home before it got too dark.
