Spring is an interesting time in the Flint Hills of Kansas. The ranchers set fire to the old dry grasses from the previous year. The fire breaks down the elements of the old grasses and that becomes nutriants for the new grass of this year. If you drive the Flint Hills around dusk you can see the flames across the prairie. I am thinking that is something like God does with us. Burn off the old died growth to make space for new.

GAry: Were you out there for the big parade? The lady Vols had a rally the day after the game, but no parade. The assistant coaches were given use of a Mercedes convertible for a year (as was the casse last year), but they rolled out a fourth Mercedes for the trainer, Jenny Moshak, who kept Candace Parker playing through the Final Four.

GAry: Were you out there for the big parade? Yes I did. I went to the baseball game and when that was over I walked over to the parade route. I was at the end of the route and the crowd was not as thick. This town is still on a high from the victory. Hi Tink. Stop by any time. We don't have to talk about sports. We can talk about anything.

Spring is official here. The first t-storm and tornado warnings of the season. I am getting ready for Art in the Park this Sunday.

well I am unsure of what the Braves are going to be doing this year. I hope they get the act together but win or lose, I'll be a fan until I die

Yesterday was the best day of spring so far this year. Sunny, ideal temps. Spent the whole day at Art in the Park, except for two hours at a baseball game.

ORIGINAL: utilityfielder Does anyone want to make a guess as to what my avatar is? At first glance, I thought it was fire. On a closer second look, I see there's a picture of a person. So, I'm going to guess that it's a self-portrait of you with a bonfire behind you. Close?
