I've got that beat. LOL!! Mine was a 1966 or 67 Pontiac Catalina. That had to be the LONGEST car in the world. I only had it a few weeks, and one of the big time jocks at school hit it and totaled it.

No kidding!!
This was in 1975 when the cars were a lot smaller, but the only reason that car got totaled is the guy who hit me did it with his momma's Electra 225. Now THERE was a tank.

I do remember the Mercury Monterey. That was a big car.
The biggest "regular" car I've ever been in though was a 1972 Lincoln Town Car. The parents of a friend of mine had that car. It was HUGE!!! I think it got 11 miles to the gallon.

My oldest just turned 17 (Feb.). The youngest is 11. Ah, the joys of being an old parent of young children!

Do you remember the Madras shirts, where every time you wash them, they change color? My mom hated those things, but I thought they were cool. Oh, and Beatle boots with cleats so you clicked when you walked.
First car - an old Datsun that was rusted in lots of spots so I covered them up with flower decals. A real "flower power" car. And when that broken down, I inherited the family station wagon that I literally drove into the ground. The cylinders and gaskets were so bad, it would foul the spark plugs and I needed to put extenders on them, and remove them often to clean them out with sandpaper. The column gear shift lever broken off, and I used the spur from a bass drum to shift with. The clutch was so shot, I had only about 1" of play on the floor. The rear wheel bearing were so shot, the car literally squealed going down the road.
I came to the faith really late in life (heard that was pretty rare, too) and I remember sitting in the seats before the altar call in our neighborhood Baptist church (where my good friend was the worship leader) and hearing a voice tell me I didn't need to go up. The next week I did, and was in the worship team shortly thereafter. Looking back, maybe that wasn't such a good idea. My wife was upset that we spent so much time serving the church, there wasn't enough family worship time. If I wasn't busy at my day job or playing music, I was rehearsing with the worship team and playing in the church. Fast forward a few years, and it's much calmer now, but still heavily engaged in the youth praise team and the main worship team. God is good, all the time.

No kidding! Thats a cruise ship! One of my friends had one of those.

Hey, I had an Electra. Wasn't my first car though.... my folks figured it was a good one, as there was alot of metal to get thru, before anything got to me. :)

Us too! Before the mechanical dishwashers, we did have one that everyone called Connie...LOL I thought that old dishwasher was my lifesaver....
Anyway...I NEVER EVER did the pink curlers - way too much curly hair, BUT I did iron it once a week. Yep, laid my head on the ironing board and had a girl friend iron my hair...ugh!
I also remember being in the second grade when Kennedy was shot and watching my Dad cry for the second time in my life.
I grew up near Orlando, so we got out of class to sit in the school yard and watch the all the space rockets zoom to the moon...it was always quite the event!
Don't remember the price of gas too much (other than gas shortages we had), 'cept you could drive for about 5 hours on a Friday night, cruising around town for about $2.00.
LOL and YES!!!!!!! The clear or clear pink fingernail polish on panty hose - LOL wow, it has been a long time since I thought of that.
And my first car (that I actually bought) was a 66 Mustang and while that sounds really cool, the doofus I got it from had "spray painted" it blue cause he thought it was "perty" and he'd save money....duh! Anyway, that's why it was so cheap, but he engine hummed like a canary.
All this reminds me of a seriously less complex time in my life...
