My Dad loved to take pictures, unfortunately they were'nt always that great - my favorite were his "air show" pictures.....he would take hundreds of photos of lots of sky with a teeny tiny plane somewhere in the middle. Or he would always manage to get pics of people looking their worst.

I chuckled over that one Becky. One of my favourite themes is "Birds On The Wing". I cry in excitement at one of my speck-in-the-sky-photos, Look everyone, that is a bronzewing, blufaced blah, blah, blah ... I end up talking to myself because the everyone is somewhere else !!!

LOL!!! Doesn't it just bug ya when you can't get people to appreciate your work?

My Dad must have taken hundreds of pictures of my Mom, and rarely did he get a decent picture of her....she was either scowling or had her eyes closed or was putting food in her mouth or hair in her face - you name it......he was very good at getting bad shots.

beautiful, love flower pictures.

Rom828 -> RE: Photography (7/7/2005 2:18:02 PM)

I just bought PhotoShop CS2! Finally...

Are there any "must have" plugins folks would recommend?

Bob

BeckeyZ -> RE: Photography (7/7/2005 11:39:53 PM)

I'm clueless on that one Bob - but I'm liking your moose - I was born in Alaska - so I have a strange fondness for moose.

oooh i want photoshop so bad >.< but probably won't ever be able to buy it, haha. alas.

did anyone check out my gallery? i'm sorry to ask again and i feel like a bum but i'm really looking for feedback from others who know a thing or two about photography.

BeckeyZ -> RE: Photography (7/7/2005 11:54:08 PM)

I started to, it's in Deviant Art isn't it? LOL...I have a gallery there too - I almost didn't because I wasn't sure I was Deviant enough, but my eldest daughter talked me into it.

I'll try to check it out again a little later.

Okay, went and checked it out, you have an artistic eye (or eyes - whatever)....I looked at all your stuff - and I must say, I'm really impressed! And you are the same age as my 1st dd! Keep up the good work - I must say, you made me miss my developing (film) days...I really need to get that equipment from my Mom. If we ever get a bigger house I would LOVE to have my own darkroom. Good job all around - I would have added some comments there, but I was just too awe struck.

Look into Photoshop Elements, it has the most commonly used tools and commands for less than $100.

If you post a link I'd be glad to take a look. I've posted mine a few times, but here it is one more time.

hey, i just noticed this thread and i'd like to pop in! i've enjoyed taking some pretty cool digital photos with our camera, but this year i became a teaching assistant for a photo class at a really expensive private summer school. it turns out that they don't need me for much, so i just get to do whatever the class does. a couple weeks ago i bought an olympus camera on amazon used. the flash is broken but i don't need it... and it was $25 so yay. so i've been taking and developing a lot of black and white photos. i get unlimited supplies so that is awesome. it is a TON of fun. i haven't really scanned most of what i've done there yet, but i will... i developed one today that i love a whole whole lot. but i do have some work (photo and other) up on a website that you can visit here. i will post more of my actual black and white photos soon! i just signed up for an intro photo class at college next semester, and i hear our photo program is really good and really hard (2nd in the nation they say) so i'm excited to learn more.

The link is on the "here" in the quote above!!![:)]

Why thank you ma'am.

Agent229, you do very nice work. I like the way you use color and perspective. Your gallery shows a lot of creativity. Keep up the good work.

PreserveWildlife -> RE: Photography (7/9/2005 10:44:05 PM)

Here is one of my favorite pics. In fact, when I went to get an 8x10 framed the person at the counter wanted to buy a print.

Oh please, anything but that! There are so many cat pictures on this site already that my mouse gets twitchy whenever I'm here. [;)]

Miss Giggles -> RE: Photography (7/11/2005 7:42:35 PM)

Heres one picture

(I guess you are in luck uncabeeil, it won't let me save it as an avatar)

but it is a picture of my cat. She wasn't too impressed though.

(No more cat pictures for a while).
