Sunnymom -> RE: REMINDER: USE THE BLOCK FEATURE (2/22/2006 10:05:38 AM)

Thank you-Thank you verry much.

And now for my next composition.

There once was an Admin named Fritz
With mods who are there to assist
When a poster is wicked
Fritz says “Write a ticket!”
Now our forums are perpetual bliss

Oh for the chance to give you some stars for that one![:D]

Has Fritz seen it?

Bringing this back to the top to remind people that trolls can be blocked. Just click on the red hand under their posts and you don't have to see the junk any more.

For regular community members.

Please use the block feature to block out all trolls if you haven't already done so.

If you don't know what that is, it's the red hand on the bottom left-hand side of someone's message. That way you won't have to read any of their gibberish. Great feature.

Anyway, they've been reported, so please just block 'em and forget 'em for the time being.

Someone who only wants to cause trouble. Every so often we'll get a few people who sign up just to post inappropriate stuff. You report the post and then block them so you don't have to see what they're doing.

Thanks [:)]

Corne -> RE: Has anyone else everdone this, or something similar? (4/10/2006 4:05:31 PM)

you might want to install a mirror next to the front door.[;)]

Pax2y_all -> RE: Has anyone else everdone this, or something similar? (4/10/2006 6:24:49 PM)

why? I'd just forget to look!

Sunnymom -> RE: Important Reminders for the Community! (4/11/2006 7:55:43 AM)

Thanks for the story Frank- is that supposed to help us remember to use the block feature? [8D]Whenever we see an annoying poster, think of Frank in his boxers? [sm=purplelaugh.gif]

I would like to remind folks to use the handy-dandy block feature, and especially to FILE A TICKET on anyone they think has violated TOS. One might wish to review the TOS and Range of Doctrines from time to time as well.

Also, if you have any questions about moderator action, it is best to just email community@salemwebnetwork.com.

slushie -> RE: Important Reminders for the Community! (6/13/2006 1:01:34 AM)

bump [8D]

I didn't know what it was for... thanks!!!

L5FanLady -> RE: Important Reminders for the Community! (6/20/2006 7:44:46 PM)

Bump again!!

Can you block someone in their own thread? I don't understand this block feature. Never used it before, though I have seen some trolls that survived till daybreak.[&:]

Darcyjo -> RE: Important Reminders for the Community! (6/20/2006 9:06:18 PM)

Yeah, it just means YOU can't read 'em. That way, if they're going after you, they can't do anything to you. Like they're yelling at you, but you can neither see or hear 'em.

L5FanLady -> RE: Important Reminders for the Community! (6/21/2006 1:07:29 PM)

My next question--Is there a way to find out if anybody has you blocked? I mean, somebody may not like you and never want to read what you have to say.....[8|] Could I find out if anyone has me blocked?

WhiteRoseBlessings -> RE: Important Reminders for the Community! (6/22/2006 9:51:26 PM)

I don't think a poster can learn if they are being blocked by someone . . .

WhiteRoseBlessings -> RE: Important Reminders for the Community! (6/22/2006 9:58:17 PM)

Actually, I'm incorrect in my last post.

To test, while being logged in to my current handle, I blocked another handle I have. I then logged out from whiteroseblessings and logged in with the other handle. I then tried to send myself (whiteroseblessings) a pm . . . and received a message stating that I couldn't do that because wrb had blocked me.

So, yes - in a cumbersome way, it is possible to find out if someone has you on their "blocked" list . . . try sending them a pm. [:)]
