Are we going to get Men Only and Women Only folders, in which women and men respectively are not supposed to enter?

Done

Can we get threads to come up at the posts that we haven't read yet?

Can we see the number of posts in a thread while we are in a thread?

Instead of the button to start a new thread being labled "new post" can it be called "new thread" or "new topic" or "new discussion" instead?

Click on the symbol with the green arrow pointing to a page right next to the thread title. That takes you to the first unread post.

Thanks, I didn't know that. I still have a problem though, because I most often am coming from one of the links in "my forum" which doens't have green arrows. Can we have arrows there too?

It's there too. You'll see the green arrow with the page symbol in front of any subscription that has new posts.

I love the look of the new polls, but...

I want to be able to ask the poll question above the poll.

I want to allow for voting more than once when it is appropriate to do so.

The lack of these two things majorly changes and restricts the usability of the polls.

Right next to the poll title text box is a check box to allow multiple votes.

But there is no way to reset the poll so that posters who voted previously can revote.

I would like the "Latest Threads" in My Forums to show more than just 5 threads.

It would be great if the old smilies would be the default choices on the side in the reply window, rather than the new ones from the new forums package. If they could just be swapped, I'd be thrilled.

You can. It's just done differently. If you started the thread - that is, if you posted the OP, you have the ability to start, manipulate or end a poll in that thread.

While the Poll is active, you have 2 options: "Edit Poll" and "Strip Poll". The "Edit" option allows you to add questions (up to 10 total), delete questions or change them. You may also edit the number of votes for each question if necessary. If someone acccidentally votes for #2 instead of #3, you can change the results to reflect that.

The second option "Strip Poll" will erase everything and allow you start from scratch. If there's not an active poll in a thread that you started (either you started the thread without a poll, or a former poll has been stripped), if you edit the OP, there'll be an "Add Poll" option. This option is only available when you edit the OP. This option will allow you to start another poll.

Thus, we don't have a "Reset Poll" option like we used to, but we can still do it - the long way. :-)

Whoops! Forgot to mention that yes, Moderators (formerly known as Hosts) can edit polls, or start or close them in any thread.

Ben,

How do you edit the OP? I haven't found that button.

I've got to find some place to try that out.

Just find a thread that doesn't have a poll.

my wishes are:
1) new message link like we had a crosswalk so that we can read through our subscriptions without having to click so many links.
2) # of unread posts in a thread. Like 100 posts, 10 new.

Amen to the above 2. It was nice to have a "new message" link at the top that reset itself, rather than having to click on a message center.

In addition:

3) Removal of the restriction about posting too soon after a previous post. In some of the game threads, especially, that's a hassle, plus if you have an afterthought in other threads, you have to wait to post it.

4) Something like the "active topics" link we had. (If we have something like that here, I haven't found it yet.)

1. *New* at the top of new posts, next to the date/time.

2. As someone else said: DIFFERENT BACKGROUND COLOR FOR THE POSTS!!! White gets a bit harsh to look at after a while. The yellowish background of the old Christianity.com was VERY good.
