Trump Survives 2nd Assassination Attempt as Gunman Targets Golf Course
Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump on Sunday survived his second assassination attempt when Secret Service agents engaged a gunman who was on the edge of the former president’s golf club in West Palm Beach, Fla. At the time, Trump was playing golf and was several hundred yards away.
Law enforcement agents said Secret Service agents were ahead of Trump on the golf course when one of them noticed a rifle barrel sticking through a fence. The agent fired at the gunman, who fled. Law enforcement later caught the individual in another county, the Associated Press reported.
Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw said the gunman was hiding in bushes on the edge of the property. Law enforcement, he said, found an AK-47-style rifle with a scope, two backpacks hung on the fence, and a GoPro camera.
How Should Christians Respond to Violence in Politics?
Christians should condemn all violence in politics. Never support it or participate in it. Murder is never the answer, and it shows a lack of faith in our God. Feeling happy is a sign of spiritual issues that need to be addressed. Prayer for all leaders; those of a different party, those of your party you believe have let you down is the appropriate response.
The response should never be to grab a gun and join in.
Looks like a left wing nut job. The political rhetoric from the Left is driving the mentally ill to act out.
As Christians, we should recognize the evil intent and driving forces behind such acts, and stand against the attacks that manifest in every form. The dishonesty, the lies, the violence and the manipulation of weak-minded men like Thomas Crooks and Randy Routh who willingly do the bidding of those forces that purposely inflame.
How do we do that? It begins with prayerful thankfulness for God’s protective hand that has been hovering over Donald Trump amidst unprecedented attempts on his life. We petition the Father to continue His watchful care and to thwart every effort of the murderous cabals.
Secondly, as Christians- we must rise up against the rhetoric and not allow it to stand unchallenged in every arena, but particularly in our daily interactions with those who espouse and celebrate violence. -Evil triumphs when good folks do nothing- so we must never- do nothing. Each of us can do something. Each of us must.
