Can a Christian Be Demon-Possessed?
There is often debate among Christians about whether or not a believer can be possessed by a demon. While the Bible makes it clear that spiritual warfare is real and that believers are engaged in a battle against the “spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (Ephesians 6:12), it also provides reassurance to those who belong to Christ. The article “Can a Christian Be Demon-Possessed?” delves into this issue and offers some biblical insights to consider.

Many questions arise from this topic: Can a Christian, who has the Holy Spirit residing within them, be controlled or possessed by a demonic spirit? What is the difference between possession and oppression, and how does this distinction affect our understanding of spiritual warfare? Let’s discuss what the Bible says about these matters and share any insights or personal experiences related to this topic.

I would say that, based off of what Jesus said in the account of the demon-possessed boy, No. A Christian cannot be demon-possessed.

No. But Christians can have mental or physical illnesses that people want to use as evidence of possession.

No, those who have Holy Spirit can’t have unclesn Spirit. They can’t co exist together.

Documentation, 1 Corinthians chapter 2
Spirit of error
Spirit of truth

Reprobates have unclesn Spirit. We’re getting deeper here. False brethren.

Adokimos in greek means - failing to pass the test. Rejected.

1 Corinthians chapter 13:5
2 Corinthians 13:7
Hebrews 6:8
Colossians 3:12
1 Timothy 5:21

Kinddunes in Greek means - extremely dangerous, false brethren.
Methodeia in Greek means - planned attack, stealth, crafty, deception.

False brethren are spies and agents of Satan. They infiltrate Body of Christ. To cause division and lies.

Ephesians chapter 4. Then we will no longer be infant’s, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here, and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in thier deceitful scheming.

Through Holy Spirit, We uncover false brethren lies and traps. We are not knocking down churches and body of Christ. We are exposing false teachers. Who have unclesn Spirit.

If its not confrontrd, and exposed, it will dsmage Body of Christ.

Satan does slander the church. These are enemies Tactics.

Proverbs chapter 28
Those who forsake the law praise the Wicked, but those who keep the law resist them.

We can’t compromise with the enemy. We’re in spiritual warfare.

Proverbs chapter 16
A dishonest Man spreads stife and a Whisper separate close friends.

Satan is slanderer. Lucifer wants division and to push poison pills on body of Christ. If he can Dupe them, then they turn on each other.

See how dangerous false brethren are.
False brethren are not of denominaton. They infiltrate Body of Christ.

Satan wants to Sabotage the body of Christ.

We are to edify. To teach sound doctrine.

Thank you first blood, but not me.

Peace.

We have a specific example from scripture.

Judas was a Christian-- a Christ follower in the most literal way. And yet Judas, one of the twelve closest devotees and one personally chosen by Jesus, betrayed him and was possessed by Satan.

We witness the moment in history, when Satan enters Judas-- Luke 22>>
Then Satan entered Judas, the one called Iscariot, who was one of the twelve.

The gospel of John tells us that this happened even while sharing the most intimate communion with Jesus-- And after Judas took the piece of bread, Satan entered into him.

Judas wasn’t a Christian; he just had proximity to Jesus.

To be ‘a Christian’ is simply to be a follower of the Christ.

Judas certainly was that.

To be a ‘Christian’ is to have repented of your sins and receive Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour; It’s receiving Salvation. Judas didn’t do that. I’ve been doing the ‘church thing’ for as long as I can remember. Does that make me Christian? No. I became a Christian 2 years ago after Jesus opened my eyes and heart to the truth. I came very close to being a Judas, but by the Grace of God I made the right choice: receiving Salvation and Eternal Life.

Read John 13:8-11. These are the very words of Jesus.

You might not be aware, or even care-- but Judas left everything behind to follow Christ. Home, family, occupation. The twelve abandoned their lives and created new ones in service and devotion to Jesus. They didn’t just ‘say a prayer’ and accept him-- they literally left all, and went all in.

Sorry if that ruffles your feathers, but it’s truth.

You are correct in that professing to be a Christian doesn’t make a person one, but Judas actually followed the man in the flesh. Neither would sleeping in a garage every night magically turn you into a car. You are remiss to dismiss that fact. John13:8 references Peter, not Judas. School yourself before you propose to school me. In the same chapter Jesus says-- “I know the ones whom I have selected.”

And then there is this>>>

He did not need anyone to testify about man, for he knew what was in man.

Mark 3 says>> And He appointed twelve, so that they would be with Him and that He could send them out to preach.”

Judas was one of “the twelve.” There is no evidence that Judas was alone, unable to perform miracles or testify in the name of Jesus… he was all in.

Explain John 13:8-11 in light of what you just said. I know Jesus said, “I know the ones whom I have selected.” But He never said, “Judas is included amongst those whom I have selected.” God holds all the power; He can give it to whoever He wants whether they’re Christians or not.

What???

Judas wasn’t one of those selected by Jesus?

Study up young man.

Jesus chose a thief, just like God chose a murderer and a liar in Moses.

Oh, Judas was selected by Jesus all right; Judas just wasn’t a Christian. He wasn’t ‘clean’ as Jesus called it. Study up no-longer-pup :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: lol

I agree with you on one point:

Do me a favor…

do a google search on Christian.

Here… let me help you.

Christians - Wikipedia.

Christian means— “follower of Christ.”

Why do you keep dodging my questions? Can’t think of a biblical response? And I thought that Wikipedia is the most unreliable source for students to use, right?

I’ve never (before) been accused of dodging questions. Ask and you shall receive.

You don’t get to change the definition of “Christian” in order to suit your particular theological bias.

John 13:8-11 says clearly-- that Jesus knew who would betray him, yet he chose him anyway, Furthermore, it identifies Peter as another, who would betray him. Yet, thank God - While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Sin is not a disqualifier. Praise be to the Father, Praise be to the Son.

If you’re not dodging, then do this:

Hi… I’m Pete.

And re Pete.

Any Christian who has holy Spirit, can’t be demon possessed. They can’t co exist together. We can be tempted and persecuted. 1 Corinthians chapter 6:19. There is spiritual oppression. Satan causes it. 2 Corinthians chapter 10
The weapons we fight which are not weapons of the world, on the contrary, they are have divime power to demolish strong hold. Ephesians chapter 6, Christian people are in spiritual warfare against Powers of darkness. Satan uses spiritual oppression to try to penetrate your mimd. Those who have unclesn Spirit are under control of Satan. 2 Corinthians chapter 4 to document.

Not quite. There’s a story told…

Jesus likens the situation to a familiar concept. He explains the unfamiliar spiritual realm by making an association between it and the physical realm, which is familiar to all of us. This association is well established within the principle of “on earth as it is in heaven” and the idea that the physical world (including us humans) is a reflection of the spiritual realm, the natural being made in the image or likeness of the supernatural (spiritual) reality.

With this in mind-- Jesus likens us to a house. He says in 3 of the 4 gospels that we are like a house, with a spirit or many spirits living inside. The house is “possessed” by spirits- for better or worse. And as such, the ones living in us must be overcome, subdued, evicted, or bound… before another spirit can “take possession” of that house. This is the nature of ‘spiritual warfare’ because the spirits good and evil will do battle over you- the house, but they will no co-habitate. “This town ain’t big enough for the both of us.”

Yet Jesus comes and hangs out with the sinners, saying “it isn’t the healthy who need a doctor.” And by the spirit, he teaches and encourages us to overcome the evil ones who seek to possess and repossess our houses.
