Do Signs in the Sky Still Mean Something?
As Christians reflect on prophecy, awe, and interpretation, we invite your voice in Crosswalk Forums.

Blood moons, solar eclipses, planetary alignments—whenever unusual events appear in the sky, it seems someone is quick to sound the prophetic alarm. But are these celestial events still messages from God—or just natural occurrences that we read into?
Throughout Scripture, the heavens declare the glory of God and sometimes serve as signs of His activity. But interpretation isn’t always simple. Jesus warned of signs in the heavens in the last days, and yet also cautioned against being led astray by every dramatic claim.
Some believers see these moments as wake-up calls for repentance. Others argue we’re too quick to spiritualize phenomena that science can explain. Still, the tension remains: is God trying to get our attention—or are we trying to make Him speak?
- Have you ever experienced a moment where something in the sky felt spiritually significant to you?
- How do you personally discern between awe and alarm when hearing about “signs”?
- Do you think the modern church has become too skeptical—or too obsessed—with signs and wonders?
Personally, I do believe in signs. But there might be a difference between what I call a sign and what you do.
I believe that the physical is shaped by the Spiritual reality. And when a spirit controls a space, it affects the people there. And they may not know it.
Random behaviors or words can be meant as a message, and Events can be prophetic. For instance, I believe there was something prophetic about that Eagle that tried to bite President Trump during his first term. And I think there is something prophetic about that soldier who blew up a Tesla outside of a Trump hotel. Each of these happenings can be looked at from a symbolic or metaphoric perspective and can be an echo of things to come.
I do believe Astrology to a point. Astrology isn’t random or prophetic in nature. It is based on the idea that all life is connected, that the heavenly bodies have an influence that can affect us, and that affect can be measured. Each planet, each space it can inhabit, has a specific theme or meaning regarding an influence. You can look it up yourself and decide if any of it is true for you. It’s not about putting faith into something. Its about acknowledging a possible influence and responding as you need to in order to counter it or roll with it. But those horoscopes you find online are extremely simplified interpretations of what any of it means.
If you ask them, nurses in hospitals and nursing homes may tell you stories of how a full moon can put people on edge. And if the moon can have an actual physical effect on the ocean, why couldn’t it affect our brains? And if the moon has an affect, why couldn’t the clockwork movement of everything else?
God doesn’t create a random world with random happenings There are laws, principles, powers, patterns, ORDER.
But the times we live in are marked by chaos. There is a spirit of chaos trying to upend ORDER at every tutn. Society is unraveling. And of course we have all kinds of predictions because people are afraid. Some are taking advantage, some are trying to ease the masses, and some of them may know something about something. And I am paying attention to it not because I am letting it control what I do or who I am. I pay attention because even a lie can tell you a bit of truth if you know how to look at it. Liars reveal themselves eventually. You just need to pay atttention and pull at the loose threads. But take everything with a grain of salt. Don’t let anything steal your peace.
