I realized recently that I don’t often pray this prayer on my own in my personal prayer time. I do pray it in church and other corporate worship settings, but it’s not something I readily think of in my own prayer time.
But then I also think that, although it’s perfectly fine to pray the literal words of the prayer, Jesus also meant it as a template for us since it essentially “covers all the bases,” and any other praise or prayer request we have can fit under one part of the prayer or another.
