God’s Perfect Peace

Satan is working hard to take my peace. I feel such deep dread and fear and anxiety and I know Satan is at work. Please pray for God to give me his perfect peace which surpasses all understanding. Thank you

Welcome @GinaME

Some from the Word to encourage you. Ishaiah said this when praying to God.

”You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.” Isaiah 26:3

You have to learn, retrain your mind even, to understand that of which you are seeking.

”Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

Of course, without Jesus, this is not possible.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” John 14:27

Try to do this. Start with moments, then days, the weeks, and before you know it, you can and will find peace.

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things”.Philippians 4:8

This verse encourages focusing on positive and virtuous thoughts. Stop looking down, and think up.

Be blessed.

Hi Gina, I’ve experienced panic attacks in the past. They’re horrible and irrational because there’s nothing you can pin the anxiety on. What I did was turn to Philippians 4:4-7. I made my request and then I thanked God for everything I could think of. I spent some time on this and at first it was just words. I had to force myself to be truly thankful and eventually my thoughts were there. Every time that anxious feeling welled up in me, I said a quick prayer asking God to help and then I started thanking Him again. I thanked Him for everything - that I could walk, for His creation around me, my health, everything. If you decide to try it, I hope it helps. In these verses it’s a promise. A conditional promise. God says if you do this, then He will give His peace that will guard your mind and heart.

Thank you. Beautiful words to live by

Thank you! I feel hopeful and ready to take on the evil one

@GinaME, you are now on my daily prayer list. I experienced deepening, major depression for seven years, from which God has delivered me for 39 years now. How?

First, God used psychological professionals’ help to get me in touch with the losses that triggered my anger and anxiety that were at its root.

Second, he helped me begin to express my feelings with words.

Third, he gave me to desire to express those emotions in prayer to God persistently over months.

Fourth, he gave me his peace of Philippians 4:6-7.

Php 4:6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
Php 4:7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Fifth, when depression threatened to return for other issues and when I asked him, God brought to my mind what I was getting depressed about and led me through a new round of lamenting prayers until he gave me peace about those new issues.
