Harvest Moon This Weekend

This Saturday (Sept. 26th) is the Harvest Moon (the full moon closest to the Autumn Equinox). :fallen_leaf: :full_moon:

So much biblical significance to the moon and to harvesttime!

Happy fall weekend!

Iโ€™ve always liked the harvest imagery in Scripture. Thereโ€™s something beautiful about the idea that so much growth happens quietly and gradually before we ever see the harvest. I think that can apply to our faith too. We may not always see the results of the seeds we plant through kindness, encouragement, prayer, or sharing our faith, but that doesnโ€™t mean nothing is growing.

Happy fall! :fallen_leaf::full_moon:

Your prompt is be a great place to remember the seven required feasts of God, for Israel.

The three Spring feasts, In the first month of the year, which are Passover (sacrifice), Unleavened bread (sinlessness), and firstfruits (resurrection).

Then 50 days later, Pentecost (Giving the seal of the Holy Spirit).

Then in the Seventh month, harvest time, the last three feasts, Trumpets, The Day of Atonement, and then Tabernacles, which symbolizes God finally coming back to tabernacle (dwell) with men on His earth.

God has gracefully provided these remembrances for His chosen people, to commemorate His overarching plan for His creation, His return to the garden, even before the actual events took place.

The Harvest moon reminds us of the impending Trumpet of God, The Day of Atonement which The Lord has made, we will be glad and rejoice in Him, and finally tabernacles, God dwelling with us:

Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." (Revelation 21:1-4)

Happy Harvest Remembrance

I like that tie-in! My church meets in the building of a Messianic synagogue, so I will especially be thinking about this on Sunday.
