Have You Ever Celebrated Reformation Day?

I find it so interesting that Reformation Day is the same day as Halloween. Do you or your church do anything to mark this day?

It’s such a pivotal and significant day in Christian history (and history in general!). I wonder how many people actually realize Halloween and Reformation Day occur on the same day since Reformation Day is so often overshadowed by Halloween. Maybe I should dress as one of the reformers for Halloween haha!

6 Reasons Christians Should Celebrate Reformation Day

I’ve always found that overlap wild too! 500+ years later and Luther’s hammer still gets outshined by plastic skeletons.

Some churches I know hold hymn sings or “Reformation feasts” on the 31st, especially if they lean more traditional. Others just use it as a reminder of why Scripture and grace matter so much.

And honestly… a Reformer costume would be epic! Just don’t forget the theses. Or a good pair of walking shoes. Wittenberg was a long way on foot.

I’d love to attend a church service or event for Reformation Day. Unfortunately, even though my church is more liturgical/traditional, we don’t host any event like this.
