I am nearing 70 yrs of age. My wife of 36 years has walked away and filed for divorce. There isn’t any adultery, abuse or addiction (on either side), now or in the past. I’m absolutely heartbroken. We built a life together. People appear to be choosing sides, including within our church. I’m distressed over believers not taking Proverbs 18:17 to heart and somehow supporting divorce because God wants individuals to be happy. My wife, like me, has been a Christian since she was a child. She has recently begun experiencing some memory issues. She’s not incompetent, but can be forgetful/confused at times. Please pray that God touches her heart, softens it and she makes the choice to return home. Please pray that God searches me and reveals things I need to repent from. I’m utterly broken and in a sea of tears over this. God hears our prayers. I covet any prayer offered up for her and our marriage. Thank you. God bless.

Dear Jesus wrap this brother in comfort and lift him up. Do not let the enemy win in this situation. Please put your hand in this situation and bring all clarity and renewed love.

Lord, please draw near to this brokenhearted husband and uphold him in his grief. Soften his wife’s heart, protect her mind, and lead them both in truth, repentance, humility, and love. Give wisdom to their church family, guard their marriage from further harm, and make a way for healing and reconciliation according to Your will. In Jesus’ name, amen.
