How do you decide when to speak vs. wait for more context?

There’s been so much discussion lately about how fast information spreads — sometimes before facts are even verified.

How do you personally decide when to speak up and when to wait for more context?

I’m curious what others here have learned about staying thoughtful instead of reacting instantly.

Best advice I can give is to check several news sources, including those that are hostile to each other and if one doesn’t know then don’t comment.

Hello ellenvera. I truly believe that there is much wisdom in the Bibical answer to your question.

”Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” Colossians 3:16

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.“ Philippians 4:6

And of course,

“Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger;“ James 1:19

Whenever you hear something, think about it. Does it sound true? Is it actually possible. Is it any of your concern? Truly? If someone is telling you that something is the truth, look here {Holding up the Bible} If it is not in here, or it is contrary to this, it is simply a lie.

You must be carful that you do not fall into gossip. Or worse, “bear false witness” against someone. A direct violation of the ninth Commandment. Pray about it. If God wants you to share the informaytion, He will provide the opportunity and the manner of which to do so.
