id like to tell you’s something I discovered many years ago , I was in the building trades ,houses ,apartment structures . pole barns . standing a pole can be a challenge as some of them can be as much as 25’ . 3 men ,to manhandling the pole ,1 man making sure the pole go’s into the hole .
I then think of the task the Romans had in standing the tree (acts 5:30) with a man nailed to it . with a man nailed to it is harder than you’s may imagine to stand up . not only do you have the weight of the wood but also the weight of the man . then there’s gravity ready to surprise you with what its wanting to do. the wood is laid down the man is then laid on to it . as soon as its picked up its going to flip ,so the man that was looking at the clouds is now looking down at the dirt . and your thinking , ,so what.
pushing it up with a man hanging , in the way of good purchase onto the wood is going to kick the standers butt . the thing is how to keep the man on the upward side . the answer is a cross bar , not up at the top but down nearer the bottom below the feet to keep it from flipping over, but to also aid in standing . the after the man had died the cross bar would of been used to lift to then the lay it down to remove the dead man. i know many think ladders were used to get the dead body of Jesus down , no ,not likely .
