Since I became Christian, I’ve experienced an unusual inner voice that gets louder every time I read the Bible. Is it common?
Yes, it is quite common. That is the Holy Spirit. Jesus said this.
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.” John 14:26
The Holy Spirit can and will communicate in many different ways. For some, He will make Scripture “pop” or Highlight in some way. For others, it is a tug, others it’s a sense of simply knowing, and still others, that small inner voice.
It’s wonderful that you’re experiencing this deepening connection with the Lord. The Holy Spirit truly works in unique ways. Remember, discernment is key. Always compare what you’re hearing internally with the clear teachings of the Bible to ensure you’re walking in truth and not being misled. Don’t be afraid to ask for guidance through prayer and seek counsel from trusted Christian leaders if you ever have questions or concerns. The journey of faith is a personal one, and the Holy Spirit is there to lead and guide you every step of the way.
Peter
Yes! This is not only common, but a mark that you belong to Christ. It’s his Holy Spirit alive and at work in your life. Such a blessing! Praying you continue to abide in him.
What Peter said. What I can add to what he said is this…That is also proof of transformation within you. You must be pressing in with your praying and reading, keep that up.
I found out that I had changed quite by accident, lol. You know how sometimes something happens and you react automatically? That happened to me, except, not in a way that it ever had before so I was like what is that? And it was sort of obvious that a change within me made me act differently than I used to in those situations. WHat had I been doing lately that may have caused that? Oh yes, the Lord. Reading His Word more and praying more, pressing in you might say. Talk to that voice! Ask Him questions, now your prayer is a dialogue and no longer a monologue.
I mean, I’m assuming that the changes in yourself were Godly and not sinful, right?
Yes, yes, yes inbrace and follow it. That inner voice could be numerous things but its not the enemy if it keeps bringing you back to the word, so i say follow it to wherever it may lead you. @riverbank
