If God has already decided to take a dive, how should we then live?

Some folks believe that God intends for history to end with the global triumph of evil, personified in a Beast / Antichrist dude.

If this is indeed God’s plan, how can we best get with that program? What steps do we need to take today to move His plan along?

@Dr_S

You have some colorful colloquialisms. I find your posts interesting.

Regarding your suggestion that God is “taking a dive”, and what should our response be, specifically:

I see it like this (just my personal take).

A human trying to “move God’s plan along” is analogous to a lady bug trying to alter the path and speed of a diesel locomotive. If the lady bug pushes on the left or right side, the locomotive stays the track. If the lady bug pushes from the rear to make it go faster, or from the front to slow it’s progress she will have about the same level of success. The lady bug can walk alongside, or she can climb on and ride it out.

(I already know some readers will take exception to my analogy. Please forgive me. I’m just a lady bug.)

The tribulation period (seven years) end with Satan being locked up for 1,000 years. During this a restored kingdom of Israel will bring the knowledge of God to the entire world. At the end of the 1,000 years Satan is given one last chance to deceive people and after the judgment, a new heaven and a new earth go into eternity. I am not sure :taking a dive: is an accurate assessment.

Where do you get the idea that history will end with a triumph of evil?

History ends with Jesus’s return and the day of judgement.

That will not be a triumphant day for those who are evil.

How can we best support Gods plans for the world/humanity?

Two suggestions.

  1. to live as Christians, that is applying the ten commandments to how we always behave.

2. to be outspoken about Christianity, apposing beliefs and actions that are not Christian.

First, we cannot, nor should we ever, attempt to “move God’s plans ahead.” Like destroying the world, we could never do it if we tried. Second?

Start with the start.

“Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3

“And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12

Why?

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

Simply put.

“And they said, ‘Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” Acts 16:31

If you are a child of God, you should be looking forward to His return. We should be looking forward to the end of all this. Some believe we will be spared the trib period, some believe we will go through it and have to endure. However, even if we do have to go through it?

“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.” Romans 8:18

“For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:17-18

Without Jesus, yes, it is scary. Yet if we are His, then we should be waiting for Him.
