Is it ok for Christians to smoke?

Perhaps you should remove your post. That’s misinformation.

Scroll up please with sugar on top

I’m pretty sure AI said Billy Graham smoked. But maybe it glitched and gave me a pastor who didn’t smoke. IDK. I’ll start asking AI the same thing twice for verification.

Thanks for removing it!

Don’t rely on AI that much. They are useful but they shouldn’t be your sole source of information… verify verify verify.

I say this as a regular AI user of a pro-version and even he is not always reliable.

So much for the ‘intelligence’ part of AI.

Think of it more like an intern and you’ll be fine.

Back to the OP, I detest smoking. However, if it is a sin, no one in the 1920s-1970s would have gotten into heaven.

It is easy to portray things we dislike or feel is a waste of money as sin. I worked in Christian radio for a decade. Lot of preaching shows. Things I heard preached as being sin:

Visiting Myrtle Beach (that harlot Myrtle)

Dancing

Wearing bright colors

Women who Bob their hair

Men with long hair

Collecting anything

Gold rimmed eyeglasses

Ballet

Sports

Plays, movies, tv

I’ve done pretty much everything on that list, and I don’t believe that a single one of those is sin. I haven’t come across any verse in the bible that says otherwise. I think it all comes down to the ‘law of love’ found in 1st Corinthians. It basically says that if any particular action (watching movies, playing sports, etc.) offends a weaker believer, you shouldn’t do it even though you have the right to.

Smoking is an addiction that harms ones body. It will result in diminished health at best and can cause cancer and an early death.

Health is a gift from God and so, since smoking affects health negatively, I would call it a sin.

But I’ve heard of people who smoke into their 90s with no health issues.

Do you not understand an obvious joke???

I suspected that it was a joke, but I decided to play it safe lol.
