What is prayer?
Prayer is talking to God. Just like you speak with someone you trust, you can speak with the Lord. In the Bible, people prayed to praise God, to ask for help, to confess sin, and to seek guidance.
âCall to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.â Jeremiah 33:3
Is it real?
Prayer is real because God is real. He listens. Sometimes, He answers quickly. Sometimes, He says no or asks us to wait. But He never ignores His children.
Jesus prayed, and He taught His disciples to pray.
How do you know when you want to be saved?
You know when you feel a pull in your heartâŚwhen you realize your life apart from God isnât what it should be. Maybe you feel guilty about sin, tired of trying to figure everything out, or just hungry for peace and truth.
âIf you declare with your mouth, âJesus is Lord,â and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.â Romans 10:9
Donât worry about being perfect. Itâs about trusting Jesus to save you. You know you want to be saved when youâre ready to stop running your life alone, and instead give it to the One who made you and died to save you.
In my limited experience, anyone who asks the question you just asked wants a real relationship with their creator. Generally the rest of the world who does not want that, would not ask that question. The fact that you are asking is evidence that you are seeking.
