I’m not a great speller, would an auto-correct or spell-check feature be out of the question?
Also, how about a selection of stock images to choose from, for profile images? You know, for those who don’t wish to upload (or can’t). Perhaps even the ability to use one by pasting the link from a website in, such as free content provided by places like the Library of Congress. In the least, color selection.
Other than that, it looks great.

Forgive me if this has already been mentioned by somene else, but another idea is the feature of the original poster to be able to lock a topic from further replies. This would not lock viewers out or prohibit likes and such. This could also include an auto lock feature settable during creation to lock after a predetermined time. (ie., 2 weeks, 30 days, etc.)
The option for new users (say within 30 days) to change their user name would be good as well.
