And text messages. And robocalls. AAAAUUUGGGHHH!!!
My parents were interviewed outside the polls on 11/5/2014, asked about political ads:
Negative ads, character sniping and relentless phone calls were a turn-off to many who turned out early Monday to cast their midterm election votes throughout the city.
Outside of the Ledge Street Elementary School polls, longtime Nashuan Leo Coutermarsh said, “I’ll be glad when it’s over. Spending all this money on this nasty advertising and commercials every two minutes, and put that money to the national debt, we’d be debt-free in the United States.”
“It would be different if they would make the ads towards what they want to do instead of how bad the other guy is,” he said.
His wife, Theresa Coutermarsh, added, “I get so sick of seeing all those commercials. I don’t hear what ‘I want to do, what my intentions are, what I want for the future,’?” she said. “It gets so you don’t want to hear it anymore.”
This was 10 years ago & things haven’t changed a bit.
