My name is Andrea and I lost my son August 12th, 2026. He was my world.. I was the sole caregiver 247, 365.. He was all I had. I feel so lost. There are some days. I wish God would take me home. But then who would take care of my cats? And this is how I feel.
Hello @Spacecadet. AKA Andrea. Please do not give up. Life can be hard, trying, and even feel overwhelming. However, as a child of God, you have nothing to fear. Heavenly Father, we lift up Andrea to You during this overwhelming valley of sorrow. Her heart is utterly broken, carrying a weight that feels too heavy to bear after losing her beloved son, and she feels her daily purpose. Lord, You see every tear she has shed and every moment of darkness she faces. You know the profound loneliness of a home that was once filled with 24/7 care, love, and devotion. In the moments when she feels completely lost, draw near to her gentle spirit. When the exhaustion makes her wish to be called home, remind her of Your presence and the quiet, essential purpose You still have for her here. Thank You, in the Name of Jesus, Amen!

Hope any of this helps.

God is always there to talk to. As a matter of fact, the apostle Paul told us, “Pray constantly” (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
Spacecadet,
I know a little of what you are going through, I have lost three children as infants. That is my experience, but I do not know how old your child was, I imagine the older they get the more it hurts, and I am sorry for your pain.
This is what I told myself when mine died: Jesus said
Matthew 18:3-5 and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. (4) Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. (5) “Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me,
and…
Matthew 19:14 but Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”
In other words, your child is with God right now, and you will see him again. The pain is blinding, I know…for weeks I could not concentrate and work, I could not eat, I could barely sleep…all I could do was curl up in a ball on the couch or take long drives and just cry and pray - both help.
Crying is good, like Scripture says, there is a time to cry, and for you that time is now.
I will put you on my prayer list, that God would comfort you in this trying time…but keep that thought in mind - he is with Jesus right now, laughing, happy, and having a good time. Let that thought give you some comfort.
Prayers and blessings.
