Repeal of Hyde Amendment

And honestly, I don’t debate conspiracy theorists. The scarlet thread statement is a red flag. :triangular_flag_on_post:

:no_mouth: :no_mouth: Uhhhhhhhh. I don’t like giving out my exact age online. But to respond to your statement, I’m not a conspiracy theorist. I like to think of myself as a practical, non-imaginative, down-to-earth individual. Okay I admit it. I’m about 60-75% conspiracy theorist. You figured me out. That doesn’t mean that what I said isn’t true. I wasn’t even looking for, or even thinking of looking for a scarlet thread, it just hit me over the head one day. But you know if you really think about it, you can see how it’s like a game of chess. I think we’re getting a little bit of topic here.

Believe me, my mother is qualified. She’s the coolest, calmest, most collected, logical, and wisest person anybody’ll ever meet. So is my grandmother. Besides, my mother can see through anything. I’m not sure how she can, but she does. For instance, one time I wanted to convince her of something. So, I planned exactly what I would say. I tried to be prepared for every single objection that (I thought) she would come up with. I think it took me about 3 days. Anyway, I gave her my informal presentation. She sat thinking quietly for about 5 seconds and brought up an objection I couldn’t object. This was last year, and I still can’t think of an objection. I’ve tried too but I can’t. I’ve done the research; I still can’t come up with an objection. Logically speaking, it just can’t be objected. She’s right. She was actually the one who snapped me out of the conspiracy theorist phase I went through 1 & 1/2 years ago. She doesn’t make up stuff. That’s why I take her at her word.

A source is a recognized expert with credentials in the subject at hand. In this case, you need to provide an in depth report from a reputable political scientist or journalist.

You won’t find one for your theories.
And if you go to college, citing your mom as a source will result in an “F” unless your mom is in one of the above listed professions. Also, Facebook is not a source, unless we are discussing modern anthropology :stuck_out_tongue:. Try The Hill, CBS or the other major news networks, or major newspapers, or political science journals you may be able to use through library computer systems. JSTOR is a valuable asset.

Well, it is wise not to give your age if you are underage.

Thankfully, I know better than to cite my mom as a source on any kind of academic paper . I would argue that Facebook actually is a source, maybe not a credible one, but a source nonetheless. It’s what I like to call “The Mind of The Common People.” I’ll try out some of the sources you suggested, even though I don’t trust what I hear on the news anymore, not after Covid (that’s another topic for another day). But, if I guess correctly, they won’t support my previous statements (it’s propaganda my friend, propaganda :slightly_smiling_face:). I guess we’ll just have to wait and see who’s right: My mother, or the press. I think that if Hariss gets into the White House, she’s going to do things nobody saw coming. Nobody except for my mother that is. But untill then, I’m just watching. Juuuuust watching. :face_in_clouds: I totally just made myself sound like a conspiracy theorist, didn’t I?

Nice try :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:. I’m not underage. I just don’t like giving out my exact age online. I wouldn’t mind giving out what age category I belong to if I didn’t feel like it would change the course and tone of your replies to this conversation. If that wasn’t the one of the oldest tricks in the book, I would say “I admire your effort” lol

I don’t care what your age is, but your posts are immature and speculative, childish sounding and I would tend to take it easy on a teen.
But, I have decided you are a :triangular_flag_on_post: so I don’t plan to continue this with you.

All right, you figured me out. I’m a teenager. If I sound childish it’s because I’m cooped up with my 4 younger brothers all day. They range in age from 9-4. It’s not my fault. I try as hard as I can to keep them from rubbing off on me. But I guess there’s a trace of them in me. I’ve gotta try harder. I’m actually old enough to be an 11-12th grader. I’d have to agree with you; my posts are a little immature. But I don’t see why my being speculative is a problem. In my opinion, it allows you to get outside of the box, gives you a whole different perspective. It helps me out a lot when it comes to writing essays. I plan on taking a debate class sometime in the future. That’ll probably help. I still think I’m right. But we’ll see. Maybe you’re right. No hard feelings towards you if you are; in my mind it’s just a disagreement. Nothing more nothing less. I’d like to shake on it, but this is online. The best I can do is: :rightwards_hand:

No worries. I I had little bros and a sister. I was the oldest, so I get it.

I would recommend trying to look at a topic without bias (hard to do) examine sources, and then draw conclusions. Your posts will be more professional sounding, and a meaningful dialogue can take place. The Hill is a conservative leaning news site that grounds their arguments well. See if it works for you.

A reasonable discussion won’t include disproven ideas like a stolen election, Covid being a hoax ( very hurtful to those of us who lost loved ones to it) but will include conservative, liberal, and moderate ideas about factual events. I look forward to future discussions.

Thanks for the advice. I’ll definitely put it into practice in the future (I hate making the same mistake more than once). I look forward to future discussions as well.
