I would like to hear from everyone here. Your understanding of the holy spirit and how he reveals. Your personal experince, i would love to learn, and know.
2Pe_1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
The bible contains all of the information God would have us know.
Isa 55:10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
Isa 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
The only way I can answer this is to share personal experiences. I’m hesitant to do that since how God reveals Himself isn’t just in one way. We see that in Scripture as well where some have dreams, and some have visions and some hear His voice speaking to Him. One thing that seems consistent in the Bible is that its God who chooses when to reveal Himself in some way and not by any action of the person who’s seeking. In some churches this seeking after a spiritual experience seems to be the main thing. I don’t agree with that and I’m hesitant and doubtful about the answer they get. For sure we pray, and we never stop praying. He will always answer, but not necessarily as we had thought. I recall one time praying earnestly for something only to have the situation go in a bad way. Or so I thought. But it turned out to be a wonderful answer to my prayer that took in considerations I had never thought about or known. I still thank Him to this day.
The important thing is to keep close to our God. Be like David and pray your heart in rejoicing and in despair. He knows it anyways and you can trust Him with the truth of your heart. The Bible answers most of our prayers, but there are situations that the Bible doesn’t address. Should I take this job? Should I marry this person? Give it up to the Lord and watch. Anyone who is truly seeking to do His will, will know His will. It may take time. God has all the time in the world. Don’t be in a hurry. Just trust Him.
