To my brothers & sisters in Christ, I need prayer I suffer from severe depression, everyday is a battle for me I pray for God to take me home everyday that’s how bad I feel. I’m now in a position where I need to look for a job or I will be homeless, I haven’t worked since 2019. Please pray that God opens doors for me. Here’s my story:
I was married for 32 years & got a divorce in 2025 my husband at the time took everything from me my savings my dignity my house I lost everything & had to move in with my daughter, during that time my brother passed away then my brothers daughter passed at 36 years old then my mother died & my dog died too! All this was so traumatizing for me & im stuck I hurt everyday for what I lost, I don’t have a penny to my name. Please please pray for me for god to open doors for me & to get out of this depression so I could want to live & have joy & peace in my life.
Tammy I pray that God will lift you up and show you his love and grace. May God deliver you from depression and allow you to experience that He is there in a way no other can be. Jesus loves you my friend! He will heal you and give you joy in Jesus name. You will laugh and smile again in Jesus Name! Amen!
Hello Tammy, My first day on this Forum (!) - I’m a grandad/church team/bible person! (recovering from a tummy bug on the sofa, so looking to be useful today!
Our lives seem in a foreign world down here - and in truth God’s children are not even ‘immigrants’ here - more like migrant workers! So life can be hard at times.
But that isn’t where our identity lies. Phew! The NT says they ‘are hidden with Christ, in God!’ That’s not just theology, but needs to become my daily conscious awareness. What does that mean? Well, take Paul’s encouragement to the young Christians in that evil city of Ephesus. They found life a daily struggle but he points them ABOVE all that gunge to their true identity and calling. He uses ‘together with’ verbs (Ephesians 2) to emphasise that who Jesus is and what he did (and now does) as the Son of Man He DOES WITH US. We DIED WITH Him. We were RAISED WITH Him. We SIT WITH Him. We’ll be GLORIFIED WITH Him. We’re His loved and privileged family. Everything else is just ‘passing scenery’.
So it 's my part to believe Him, against all the odds. None of it matters, however hard it seems. Of course he sympathizes (as do we all) but His upward call is to lift our eyes to see His loving face. That’s where hope and confidence can rise - out of ashes. In that sense we all have the same story.
My bible carried a tear-off-calendar verse for at least 20 years, from Hebrews 10 v 35. ‘Don’t cast away your confidence - it has a huge reward! But You will need perseverance, so that when you (like Jesus who went before, v7) have done the will of God, you (also) will receive the promise.’
And yes, He’s coming (v37-39) - pretty soon? - so I need to please him today by exercising my ‘mustard seed’ of faith planted in His Saving Person and gracious character. And in doing so the unique ‘me’ (my ‘soul’) will be delivered out of bondage to earth’s dictates into His clean air where I am truly ‘saved’ in all the sense of that word. He’ll love you through it!
So trust Him for a suitable job today and persevere in that confidence in Him. He’s WITH you in that very step forward. And look out for encouraging church. (Very few function without!)
