If this really needed to be said, then it shows what an appalling level of ignorance both Christian teaching and Christian faith has reached.

@Who-me what you call “appalling ignorance” is not because the truth was not taught. It is because we have stopped listening.
Christian teaching has not failed. The Bible has not changed. Jesus still said, “Enter ye in at the strait gate… narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” Matthew 7:14. That narrow way was never meant to be popular.
The problem is not that the Church did not know. The problem is that many who call themselves Christians today do not want to know. We want a Christianity without repentance, without holiness, without the Cross. We want blessings without obedience.
If we have to be reminded today that He is not coming for the rich or poor, black or white, titles or denominations — but for a holy and prepared heart, then it proves one thing: we have traded the Gospel of salvation for a gospel of identity, of culture, of comfort.
And yes, that should humble us. It should bring us to tears.
So let the ignorance be exposed. Let it be said again and again until we wake up. The Word of God has never been ignorant. We have.
It is time to return to the old path, to the Bible, to repentance.
He is coming for you and I not for what we are in this world, but for who we are in Christ.
And an all-out attack against anything Reformed, including the Confessions, I might add.

If a ’ church ’ is not listening or not wanting to know that is a ’ church ’ that is ignorant and a ’ church ’ that is educating its followers to be ignorant as well.
It is shameful that many ’ Christians ’ reject an organisation that believes that the bible is the reliable trustworthy, authorities word of God , reject that organisation for following that belief logically. I’m talking about Answers in Genesis and Creation.com.
Do we need to be told God loves us? Do people understand what happened at the cross and what it means, is God so loved the world that he sent his only Son meaningless.
The whole bible is a love letter to a people who hate God, we just have to read it and believe ir and live it.
He is coming for the sick, marginalised, deprived and lowly. ie us all who he has chosen.
The other thief on the cross did nothing to deserve Jesus’ blessing.
