Speedy intervention

I’m thanking GOD for speedy intervention regarding my permanent residency and also for generation wealth and salvation of my family

Welcome @Kdash. May I caution you? While your post sounds like a standard prayer or expression of gratitude on the surface, it blends three very different concepts. Legal status, financial wealth, and spiritual salvation into a single sentence. This feels off or unsettling. I hope you are not blending the “Prosperity Gospel” with Salvation.

The phrase “generational wealth” is a hallmark of Prosperity Theology (or the Word of Faith movement). This false framework teaches that God guarantees financial abundance, material prosperity, and physical wealth to believers as a sign of faith or divine favor.

This is very problematic because Jesus and the Apostles repeatedly warned against the pursuit of earthly riches (e.g., Matthew 6:19–21, 1 Timothy 6:9–10). Scripture emphasizes storing up spiritual treasure and contentment rather than claiming God’s promise for generational financial assets. Combining material wealth side-by-side with eternal salvation can make God seem like a means to a financial end.

Depending on how you meant it, “thanking GOD for…” can sometimes be used as a “faith declaration” (claiming something that hasn’t happened yet as if it already exists). In biblical prayer, believers are encouraged to bring their needs (like residency or family salvation) before God with humility and submission to His will ("Not my will, but Yours be done"). Claiming temporal guarantees, like generational wealth or guaranteed legal outcomes, can blur the line between trusting God’s wisdom and treating God like a mechanism to grant specific worldly outcomes.

Thanking God for the salvation of one’s family is a beautiful desire, but in light of the other claims, it can sound like an assumption that family members will automatically be saved as part of a “package deal” of divine blessing alongside money and residency status. Scripture teaches that every individual must personally repent and trust in Christ. Just some things to consider.

Be blessed, be a blessing,

Peter
