Dear Lord please soften my heart and remove the bitterness I have been deeply hurt by some that I love so much and I just don’t seem to forgive them and it has cost me separation from my family . I know all things are possible through you. Please help me Jesus.

I’m sorry you have been hurt by someone you love. The pain from such a thing goes deep.
May I suggest that you deal with this situation biblically and not emotionally.
Our example is Jesus and he on the cross did not forgive his killers but rather he prayed for them, that God would forgive them.
You see forgiveness is dependant upon repentance.
You were not forgiven by God until you repented of your sins as Luke 17:3 says
**“**So watch yourselves.
“If your brother or sister sins against you, rebuke them; and if they repent, forgive them. **4 **Even if they sin against you seven times in a day and seven times come back to you saying ‘I repent,’ you must forgive them.”
If your loved one does not recognise the hurt they have caused and will not say sorry, all you can do is tell God about what happened, how it affects you, your feelings and ask God to deal with them and yourself.
Then continue to pray for the good of this person.
Only God can change there heart, only God can enable you to loose your bitterness and for that to happen you have to be open to God changing you.
