Lately I’ve been praying for something specific and haven’t seen movement yet. I know God’s timing is perfect, but sometimes waiting feels like talking into the air.
If anyone else has been in a season like this? How do you keep your heart soft instead of discouraged?
Lord, help me trust that Your quiet isn’t absence. Teach me to rest in Your timing and not lose faith in the stillness. Amen.
Some things it may not be expedient for us to have, some things that our hearts are really set on can be deceiving in the sense that our heart is led away from the Lord. Our Lord knows all, He certainly knows how to give good gifts to His children, and only He can know what will come of that gift whatever it may be. It can be hard but in times like these I try and keep that whatever it is I want so badly off my heart and focus on whatever else he may want to show me, I find that strong desires can but not always blind and deafen us to some degree because we essentially won’t want to hear otherwise.
Now it is worth noting, that if not receiving something will decrease your faith, then you simply won’t receive it. Basically the Devil is right there talking to God like “See how bad they want that? You know if you don’t give it to them they will lose faith in you” and God permits that, because at the end of the day it is an opportunity to try your faith.
God already knows everything you could ever want, but He wants you to focus on Him. Everything you could ever desire after that will be added to you.
May your peace and your blessings be multiplied,
Sincerely,
G
i believe that just because we havent seen movemnt dosen’t mean that his plan/answer isn’t in motion. a lot of times he uses [us] as a delivering vessel to be part of someone’s prayers. and you know [us] sometimes we can get sidetracked just going grocery shopping. so maybe your prayer is being answered but its taking the scenic route. dont give up or lose hope
I can really relate to this. Sometimes God’s silence is just His way of teaching us patience and strengthening our faith. Keep praying — He’s listening, even in the quiet.
I have been in the season of silence since 2021. I describe it as a season of silence because God revealed that I was to trust Him without the details and to not lean to my own understanding. You mentioned in your prayer for God to teach you to “rest in your timing,” and that is an instruction God revealed to me. He was calling me to rest in the silence and to be still and know that He is God. With the help of mentoring and drawing closer to God through reading His word, I am experiencing rest in a wholistic way. These are some scriptures God gave me, Isaiah 30:15b, Proverbs 3:5-6, and Psalm 32:8 Lastly, I listen to messages on what I am experiencing to help build my faith in the process of patience & silence. Blessings as you are experiencing God in a loving way🙏🏾
