Welcome @genglert

This is why reading the Whole Bible is important. The whole thing is about Jesus. When you look at it through this lens, you see so much more than you would just dry reading it. Some examples?

Virgin birth: Isaiah 7:14 predicts a virgin will conceive and bear a son called Immanuel, fulfilled in Matthew 1:23 (Isaiah 7:14).

Birthplace: Micah 5:2 foretells the Messiah’s birth in Bethlehem, fulfilled in Matthew 2:1 (Micah 5:2).

Suffering and sacrifice: Isaiah 53 describes the Messiah being pierced, crushed, and oppressed for humanity’s sins, fulfilled in Jesus’ crucifixion (Isaiah 53:5, 7).

Kingship and righteousness: Psalm 72 and Jeremiah 23:5 speak of a righteous king from David’s line, pointing to Jesus’ eternal reign (Psalm 72:1–4; Jeremiah 23:5).

Triumphal entry: Zechariah 9:9 predicts a humble king riding a donkey, fulfilled in Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem (Zechariah 9:9).

Jesus is also revealed through types and symbols in the Old Testament:
Sacrificial lamb: The Passover lamb in Exodus 12 and the sin offerings in Leviticus foreshadow Jesus as the ultimate sacrificial Lamb of God, whose blood brings salvation (Exodus 12:21–23; Leviticus 16:15).

Adam as a type: Adam represents humanity, and Jesus is the “second Adam,” bringing redemption and life (Genesis 1–3; Romans 5:12–21).

Melchizedek: The priest-king of Salem prefigures Christ’s eternal priesthood (Genesis 14:18–20; Hebrews 7).

Jesus Himself affirmed that the Old Testament points to Him. He explained that Moses and the Prophets wrote about Him (John 5:46)

“You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me,” John 5:39

" For if you believed Moses, you would believe me; for he wrote of me." John 5:46

After His resurrection, He interpreted all Scriptures concerning Himself to His disciples (Luke 24:27). He also referenced Isaiah 53 and other passages as fulfilled in His life and mission (Luke 22:37; Luke 4:18–21).

Grateful for the reminder from 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 that God’s comfort is not only for our endurance, but for ministry to others. :revolving_hearts:
