About me and my charitable work at OUAGANET

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
My name is Luc and I am grateful to join this community of believers.

My walk with Christ is shaped by scriptures such as James 2:17 “Faith without deeds is dead” and Matthew 25:40, where Jesus teaches that whatever we do for “the least of these,” we do unto Him. These verses inspire the mission God has placed on my heart.

Through OUAGANET, a Christian 501(c)(3) charity, we serve the poor in rural Burkina Faso by:

  • Providing Christmas meals to hundreds of poor children, youth, and widows

  • Distributing Biblical tracts, Bibles, and Christian books to strengthen faith

  • Donating goats to empower women, helping them generate income and support their families

  • Offering small acts of compassion that reflect Christ’s love in practical ways

I joined this forum to connect with believers who share a heart for missions, compassion, and Kingdom service. If you feel led to pray with us, encourage us, or learn more about what God is doing through our ministry, I would be honored to share.

May the grace and peace of Christ be with you all.

Do you partner with local NGOs, government bodies, or churches? @Quaganet?

J.

A heart for mission, by that do you mean the mission to preach Christ or the mission do ‘do good works’ ?

I’ve look at ‘OUAGANET’ web page and there is no mention of preaching the gospel, so could you explain how this mission does that.

Hi,
Thank you for the question. Our mission is, first and foremost, a charitable mission. We are not a church or a preaching ministry. Our calling is to serve the poor, the vulnerable, and orphans through practical acts of compassion such as empowerment programs, education, health support, clean water initiatives, seeds for gardening, and community assistance.

That said, because our work is rooted in love and compassion, we receive support from Christian organizations, friends, and supporters who partner with us in many of our programs.
Thank you
Luc

Thank you for a prompt and honest reply.

I am unable to support a charity that does not include preaching the gospel in its work.

Hi,
Thank you for your reply. I fully understand and appreciate the importance of preaching the Gospel. While OUAGANET does not have the structure or capacity to conduct formal preaching as a church would, our ministry is deeply Christ-centered, and we incorporate the Gospel into our work in several meaningful ways:

1. We share the Gospel through literature and resources.
We distribute Christian tracts, wristbands with Bible verses, Gospel booklets, and other evangelistic materials directly to villagers, youth, and families who often have little or no access to Christian resources.

2. Our service has opened doors for church planting.
Through the relationships formed in our work, a pastor and his wife were able to plant a small local church in one of the communities we serve.

3. The Gospel is preached during our Christmas outreach.
At our annual Christmas meals for orphans and the poor, local pastors and youth leaders share the message of Christ, the meaning of Christmas, and the hope found in the Gospel. Hundreds of young people hear the Word each year.

4. Our ministry leads people to Christ in a practical, tangible way.
When villagers experience God’s love expressed through compassion, many become open to receiving the message of Christ. We believe that love prepares the soil for the seed of the Gospel.

Sorry, Ouaganet, but I agree with some others here. Your reluctance to preach the true Gospel is disturbing. It rings of a scam. You can do all the good works you claim you do, but if you leave God out, none of it matters. These pictures could have come from anywhere. Sorry, but there are way too many people who think that they can scam off “Christian” organizations, churches, or just believers due to what they perceive as overly caring and ignorant people.

“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.” 1 John 4:1

I’m sorry, but this is not something I’m being led to support. If you are a true ministry, then I pray that God is with you and your mission always. If not, you will have to take it up with Him.

Hi,
As I mentioned earlier, we are not a church or a preaching ministry. We are a 501(c)(3) public charity, fully recognized under United States IRS regulations.

The photos on our website—and the ones shared in this thread—are all from our real activities. For example, in the second photo, I am the third person from the left wearing jeans and a red/blue shirt. We are holding copies of the Gospel of John (French edition), which we distributed that day. In the fourth photo, I am leaning against the tree while handing out children’s Christian reading tracts to students.

I completely respect and understand that each believer has their own conviction and calling when it comes to supporting ministries. Some support preaching ministries or churches, others support charitable nonprofits or NGOs. And even within the church, some will restrict their support to certain denominations. Every form of service in the Body of Christ is valuable, and people are free to support the type of ministry the Lord leads them to.
Thanks,
Luc
