From the original series to the latest, and the movies. Discuss the good and the bad, the errors and the acting. Of course, discuss the array of uniform changes over the years
Deep space Nine: my issue is that this show does not follow the concept of exploring strange, new worlds.
Star Trek Discovery is more about intrigue with Starfleet Command, war, more so than exploring Strange, new worlds.
Star Trek Voyager and Next Generation got it right. ,
When TOS was first airing, all of my older siblings were totally into it. Needing to assert my individuality (even at an early age) I decided that I hated it.
When “Star Dreck: the Motion Sickness”…er, I mean “Star Trek: the Motion Picture” came out, a friend dragged me along to see it and, true to form, I hated it.
However, the same friend dragged me to see “Star Trek II: the Wrath of Kahn” (what can I say? I love going to the movies regardless of movie choice) and I decided to get over myself, sit back, and ended up enjoying it.
It was “Star Trek: TNG” that got me completely hooked.
I like both original star Trek and next generation. Seemed to me Captain Kirk allowed hate to dictate his emotions towards the Klingons. In search of Spock. One Klingon killed his son. It seemed lto me he had hard time controlling his hate. Fast forward to undiscovered country. Kirk is hosting Klingons. And his ship fires on Klingon ship. One of his officer’s set him up.
Kirk was taken into custody by Klingons. Spock did investigation and cleared Kirk of charges. No doubt Kirk lived with his bitterness and hate. William shatner was bully. He took Leonard nimoys bike in his dresser room. When nimoy asked for his bike back. William told him to go into his room and get it. Nimoy was greeted by two domermin Pinchers. He kept trying to get his bkie back. I don’t remember if it was resolved.
Peace.
Does it matter if Kirk hated Klingons, since Klingons are not human, and presumably do not have souls? Wouldn’t it be like hating spiders?
