My church is closing (which has been personally devastating), and in looking for a new church I feel conflicted about the pros and cons of megachurches. The church I have attended for the past 10+ years is fairly small <150, which I have loved because of the close community it has created. It’s been a blessing to know every face I see on Sunday. The only things that I have felt have been missing from my church have been its community outreach and opportunities to serve, which is something very appealing about megachurches. I’m also interested in the variety of community groups/topics covered in bible studies/small groups at my local megachurches. I have concerns about accountability within churches of greater size as well as the commercialization of church and how that compares to what the Bible says the Church should be. Do you think megachurches are corrupted? What pros and cons do you discern regarding megachurches today?
Corruption isn’t necessarily a factor of size, but one of leadership. You can find corruption in small churches as well as large organizations and on the flip-- you can find very good large (mega-sized) congregations AND small, tight-knit groups. It’s wise to avoid painting with broad strokes in either case.
Consider church-hoping for awhile and prayerfully consider each one you visit. Like trying on sweaters, you’ll eventually find one you love that fits just right.
Imagine for yourself an Evangelist Pastor. It is 1950. Said Pastor, he is becoming famous, and receiving a big following.
Satan and demons, they have been attracted to authority. As our pastor becomes famous, he may have become attacked.
Our Pastor, his ministry may have started out on fire. He brought a Fear of God. Given his message softens, it may have been a sign of something. A sign that someone, or something got to him. Maybe it was Freemasonry. Maybe it was a number of things. Satan and demons have been attracted to authority.
I like talking about Ideas. Given someone were to ask me if this or that Church was corrupted, we would have to look at each specific one, and what is going on. It is a rough topic, and best done “In house.” Exposing corruption can hurt people in their walk with God.
In 2013, I was just a regular man. I was a sinner. I was wrong. I was just as much lost as anyone else. I started working for God full time after receiving a calling. I became aware of things.
Given a group of men are growing in faith together, they may have learned to think more alike. They learn to see things more like God sees them. They become of one mind. (Philippians 2:2) In looking for corruption, in a Churches theology, or in a pastors message, is there something in the way of men growing in faith together? Stumbling blocks or barriers?
The Methodist Church, it split recently. The Methodist Church would be an easy one to talk about.
Hillary Clinton was a follower of Saul Alinsky. Saul Alinsky, he was a community organizer. He would attach himself to a community for a few years, attach himself to a Church, and work to be promoted, and put into a position of responsibility. As he was accepted, he would promote “Non-Biblical,” anti-God things.
When Hillary Clinton talked about wanting to be a Preacher, that was code for all her Saul Alinsky friends to do their thing. The Methodist Church ended up splitting.
Part of Spiritual Warfare has been a war of words, a war of thoughts. (2 Corinthians 10:5) How does man perceive himself? How does man perceive God?
Given someone were to say “Homosexuality is not in the Bible,” they would be correct. Homosexuality was a made up word. It was a word coined by a German Psychologist around 1850 or so. A Psychologist who hated Christians.
In general, a Psychologist is nothing more than a “Secular Priest” whom people confess their sins to.
Gay used to mean happy. It was an innocent word. Gay became associated with LGBT in the 1980’s after a New York times article.
A rainbow was an innocent thing that a child may have drawn. It was adopted by the LGBT as their flag in a type of Nationalism.
LGBT is a social construct, created by Psychologists and weirdos who hate God, and Christians. LGBT has been a battlefield of Spiriutual Warfare.
Satan has been a liar and a thief.
Humanism came from Christian theologians. We have "Secular Humanism, a corruption of.
Progress, like Progressivism, that may have been a “City Upon a Hill” John Winthrop. Progressivism came out of Christian Churches. Progressivism was shanghaied by Satan where “Progress” the last few years was having men in girl’s bathrooms.
Awake is something particular in the Bible. (Ezekiel 12:2)(Proverbs 20:12)(Isaiah 42:7)(Matthew 13:15-17) Woke would be a corruption of coming from people more associated with Rev Jesse Jackson, Freemason.
These are example of spiritual warfare, and where there has been a corruption.
