It’s easy to brush off a white lie, a burst of sarcasm, or a few words of gossip—especially when “bigger” sins seem more deserving of repentance. But Scripture says even small compromises can spread like yeast in dough (1 Corinthians 5:6–8). Sin multiplies, corrupts, and pollutes.

This Crosswalk devotional draws a powerful analogy: just like small bits of trash can poison a stream, little sins can poison a soul. Left unchecked, they disrupt relationships, skew priorities, and dull our sensitivity to the Spirit.

So what do we do with our “small stuff”? Are we truly honest in confession? Do we regularly ask the Spirit to sweep out our hidden corners?

Which “minor” sins tend to be the easiest to justify?
What’s one habit God might be nudging you to confront today?

“Even a little bit of sin can spread. If we don’t clean up our little sins, they can affect our entire spiritual well-being.”
