Hi,

Don’t make things complicated.

Matthew 22:37-39 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Love God.
Love others.
Love yourself.
That’s all you gotta do.
All those characteristics will be covered.

Blessings

But how do we love God in a way that pleases Him?

How do we love our neighbors in a way that He wants us to?

Does He just expect us to define it?

Just seems like there’s something missing there because everyone defines how to do those things for themselves, they put their own goals and limits on it and do just enough not to get in the way of their own ways of enjoying life.

Living as a person after God’s own heart means embodying His love and justice in every action. Psalm 51:10 says, “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.”

May I suggest that you read Leviticus 19 where God spells out having concern for other people and you see the first mention of loving others as you love yourself.

Study the10 commandments and look athow they involve us havi g regardfor other people. They all look away from us towards other people.

Think about it.

The entire Bible speaks of love for one’s neighbor.

Love is the most powerful force

The arrow bending to the right and the S on a green background, indicated I was replying to Stand.

It is a good idea to be familiar with the same bible that Jesus and the apostles used.

Love is a powerful force, both for good and for evil.
Love must be grounded in the reality of God and of his will and love for mankind.

Love on its own is a loose cannon.

God is love." This suggests that love is not merely an attribute of God, but His very essence. The sacrificial love exhibited through Jesus Christ’s crucifixion serves as a profound demonstration of this divine love, emphasizing its power to forgive, redeem, and transform lives.

Through the trinity God loves, is loved and knows about love.

Yes God is love, but love is not God.

True love is only when it is centered on God through faith in Jesus.
