Believe, Lord I Do Believe, Help Thou My Unbelief

Greetings in the Lord Everyone

Have you ever had to say those words to the Lord? Lord I do believe but if there is any unbelief in my heart, then help my unbelief to believe. I have, many times and sometimes still do say those very words to Father God in Jesus name.

When a person is believing God for a miracle, or a divine breakthrough in a situation, or for debt cancellations, or for major financial favor, or deliverance from an addiction or bad habit and you have done all you know to do through prayer, prayers of agreement, praise and thanksgiving, speaking the Word of God over the matter and still believing, somethimes you may have to cry out to the Lord God Almighty and say "Lord I do believe but if there is any unbelief in me then help my unbelief.

Mark 9:23-24 **And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.
(Now I know that in this Scripture it was about a child having an unclean spirit.).

I was thinking about Believing God with all of my heart and the Holy Spirit put that Word in my heart.

So, here’s my question again, have you ever had to cry out to God and say: Lord I do believe by faith with thanksgiving, but only you know if there is any unbelief in my heart, help thou my unbelief.

Blessings to you all in Jesus name

The Father struggled to believe that Jesus could heal his child, Not that he struggled to believe in God.

There is nothing wrong or sinful in having questions or doubts about ones Faith, so long as one is searching for answers.

we’re told in 1Peter3::**15 **But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.

We need to be aware that the lies of " prosperity gospel " don’t become part of ones faith.

Greetings in the Lord, Who-me

Yes, the child’s dad’s response was to what Jesus had said. Jesus told him to believe, and he said, “Lord I do believe, help thou my unbelief” and that’s exactly what Jesus did by delivery his child it was to show him and those around him where the man’s faith was and that his faith was truly in God.

Thanks for the Feedback.

Now God Almighty has a lot of promises in His Word from the Old Testament to the New Testament that says we are to prosper not just in Spirit and Truth with His Word, yes we are to be rich in knowing HIM through His Word,His Faithfulness,His Goodness,His Favor,His LovingKindness, His Gentleness,His Forgiveness, His divine Healing,His Righteousness, His Mercy,His Grace, with the divine Help that comes from His Holy Spirit, and Prosperity in the natural.

Let’s be real because the God I serve wants me heal, healthy, whole, debt free with His wisdom guiding me,and He wants me to prosper in the natural even as my will, mind, emotions, and body prospers in His Word.

The blessings of the Lord maketh rich and He adds no sorrow with it.
(Proverbs 10:22)
Beloved I pray above all things that you prosper and enjoy good health, as your Soul prospers. (3 John 1:2)
Jesus prayed: “Forgive our debts and we forgive our debtors” (Matthew 6:12)

What about when Jesus supplied the money to pay for his and Peter’s taxes?

What about when God SENT Elijha to the widow woman, she was so poor, and all she had was enough oil and flour to make some bread. But here comes God, sending His Servant to bless the poor woman (1 Kings chapter 17)

Psalm 5;12 For surely, O Lord, you bless the righteous, You surround then with Your favor as with a shield. (NIV)

There are other Scriptures in the Word of God that points to us as His Children that we can Believe Him for wealth in the natural as we grow in and be rooted in Christ Jesus.

God also blesses the works of our hands, and He uses job assignments, He uses ideas, He uses His favor and generosity to prospers us in the natural it is for His glory, because He is a Good Father. It’s for our good because we make our boast is in our God and it’s also to be a blessing to others to show forth His Covenant in Jesus name.

Deuteronomy chapter 8 says a whole lot about prosperity especially Deut.8:18

So please don’t tell me that God wants me to have the world’s mentality of low income, poverty, and just barely getting by, because My God said in Jeremiah 29:11 that He wants me to have His peace and success in this World.

Didn’t God Bless Abraham with His Words First, and then HE manifested is Covenant Promises that all Families of the Earth would be Blessed through him, first by His obedience and second in the natural. Abraham was wealthy in the natural and had 318 employees that prospered even as he had prospered.

God does not want us to get caught up in the things He gives to us or blesses us with but He wants us to enjoy ALL that Jesus died on the Cross for us to have now and throughout all Eternity.

Again, Thanks for your feedback, and May all your needs be met according to the Father’s riches in glory not just spiritually but naturally as well through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19)

I love Jeremiah 29:**10 **This is what the Lord says: “When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my good promise to bring you back to this place. **11 **For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. **12 **Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. **13 **You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. **14 **I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”

Context is always important and this passage is about people returning to God, not about his people succeeding.

Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. **29 **For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. **30 **And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.

verse28 ALL things work for our good, that is poverty, ill health, riches etc etc

Greetings in the Lord,

Context is good and I know that, but when the Holy Spirit gives revelations on His Word then it is no longer Context, but Rhema and Rhema comes from having a closeness with God in Jesus name.

I know now why God hides so many of His people from other people so they can’t crush what He is doing in their heart.

I know the Word of God by studying and seeking HIM and leaning on the Holy Spirit for insight, revelations, and rhema, a quickening of God’s written Word and by living the Word of God out daily with HIS help. Thank God for the Holy Ghost and to be led by HIM in Jesus name.

Jesus said the Words I speak are spirit and life not context.

Thanks again for the feedback, God’s Blessings to you and your household in Jesus name.

I have prayed almost those exact words to the Lord many times!

Lord help my unbelief is a great prayer. Another one is, Lord if I am not willing then I am willing to be made willing…Surprising how many different circumstances that those can be used with.

Amen, Sister.. We tend to have so much gratitude towards the Lord that it makes us want to obey Him in all things, so in our efforts we do everything we can do as you said pretty much. I prayed very deeply about this before about what can I do, and I learned, we can obey in all things. Over time this taught me that while praying for a miracle in some way when something bad has happened is almost human nature, like a drowning man yelling for help! it is also important to praise Him and thank Him during the peace times of no crises, when things are going good!

One morning I got up and was saying my morning prayers and I didn’t ask Him for anything. I asked Him, Lord what can I do for you? I want to help, you have done so very much for me already that, I would love to be able to help You, But I hurt my back in the auto accident and my old truck is broke down, so can it be something that I can help with that I can do from my easy chair? (I actually prayed that!) Amen, and…the phone rings with a God centered task in the form of an old friend wanting to come discuss God and the scriptures with me, and visit…!! (That was fast).

But it gets better! I knew my company was coming so I go to put on a pot of coffee for when he arrives and I was out, forgot. Now I was in my slow season at work so I didn’t even have money to get some. But the Lord just answered a prayer for me, so perhaps I should just pray again for some coffee? …and I remembered the scripture that says don’t worry about what will I drink or eat for he knows our needs before we ask (Matthew 6:25-34) and so I thought, so I don’t have to pray for coffee money…I did not pray for anything, I put it out of my mind to not worry about it and figured, well, it is what it is lol. I can at least give my friend some water to drink, that’s something…

Less than 30 minutes later I hear the knocking at the door by my friend. I opened it and he said, Hi Ed I brought you a gift…and he hands me a 2 pound bag of some type of gourmet coffee beans and I had just finished the very last cup of coffee, so, it was really time to put on another pot of coffee! And I have it now! So we had coffee and better than what I usually buy.

So I had to think about that long and hard, was that a miracle? I didn’t tell my friend that I was out of coffee, I know I didn’t. And suddenly, it almost had the feel of…favor? So I figured it out. I had asked Him, can I help. He answered that with a fast yes. Then why did He send me coffee when I didn’t pray for it? Oh! Because I stood on faith in His word so the coffee gift was to confirm that my friend calling me and asking for spiritual help was really Him doing it for me, AND because I stood in faith upon His word, and so He was all over that because that’s what He does !!!

So that day I learned what favor feels like. I’ve always tried to be a good host to company and I gut went thru the floor when I saw I was out and broke! And I of course feel what favor feels like.

So I surmise that since I had come to Him in thanksgiving and gratitude (and had been being obedient) that I got my prayer answered so that may have tipped the scales for me?

If someone who has a lot of unrepented sin to be in crises and pray for help, they might not get a prayer answered? And maybe they still will because of the Lord’s infinite compassion or if the Lord thinks it may touch them and draw him closer? It used to seem to me like other people get prayers answered but me? Not so much. I can’t say that anymore, Praise the Lord!!

I think the positioning of our heart makes a difference also.

You are correct, Sister. Beyond the context is the biblical principle and this particular principle is a very useful one in many areas and circumstances.

What you are saying is that, because you have the spirit and others don’t you can interpret the bible how you like and make it say what you want it to say!

Unfortunately for this false teaching God is consistent and does not chop and change what he means .

Where do you find this in the bible?

God tells us to meet together to encourage one another and to teach each other. He does not tell us to hide from each other.

Greetings in the Lord, who me, I came back to answer this question for you by the grace and revelation from the Holy Spirit in Jesus name.

Do you know why a lot of people are falling by the wayside? Because the moment they reveal that God actually spoke to them through HIS Word, it is other Christian people or non-believers that will call it false doctrine. When in FACT God knows how to reach people’s hearts better then human beings do, especially if they truly need to hear from HIM. God Almighty ALWAYS Confirms HIS WORD, ALWAYS. But a person must have a spiritual ear to hear what God’s Spirit is saying in Jesus name.

God does NOT always reveal what HE is doing in the hearts of those He has chosen for HIS plan or purpose for their life, and YES, HE does hide people from other people so the other people can’t crush what HE’s doing.

Did God hide Elijha?

Did God allow Moses to be hidden first as a baby?

Did God allow Joash to be hidden away to save him from the Queen? 2 Kings 11

Did God hide David from Saul for a season?

Did God hide Jesus for a season?

God hid people to protect them from danger, shield them from enemy rulers, and to prepare them for future service.

I gave you 2 Scriptures; you will need to search for the other answers in the Bible. By all means you should pray and seek the Lord before you judge what God is doing in the hearts of people.

Remember when Peter asked Jesus about John, and Jesus said to HIM in so many words, don’t be concern about John what I’m doing with John, you follow the instructions that I have given you (John chapter 21:21-22)

May God bless you with revelation from the Holy Ghost who is the Spirit of God and the Spirit of Truth in Jesus name.

Always. This is true.

I suspect that the Lord did something similar to me before. When the Lord gave my online Christian and friend a word of knowledge about me and told me to give my business to my son and move to Ohio. I rejected the word at first because moving back to Ohio to where I’m from, was not on my agenda. But like you say, (The friend kept talking and told me things that I had never told him about me) God confirmed His word to me.

I did move but didn’t know why and I felt like Abraham must have felt. Didn’t know where he was going or why, and that’s how I felt too. Plus, my kids were strting to get into some trouble and all off a sudden, I’m moving to Ohio…? Maybe the Lord was getting me out of the way from somehow interfering what He is doing with my kids to straighten them out? Maybe.

" but when the Holy Spirit gives revelations on His Word then it is no longer Context, but Rhema and Rhema comes from having a closeness with God in Jesus name. "

This is what you said, that a revelation is no longer context! God is Truth, God is consistent, his message is not one thing for some people and another for a chosen one, it is the same message for All people.

The biblical pattern is for believer to meet together, for mature to guide the new/immature and for received revelation to be tested by the mature.

Yes God did hide some of his people, but compare that hiding with what the bible tells us of the suffering of Gods people.

Where does Paul tell persecuted Christians to pray for God to hide them?

Look at the world and tell me how God is hiding Christians currently being perscuted?
