The question of whether Christians can use birth control brings together faith, personal convictions, and biblical interpretations. Throughout history, Christians have had varying perspectives on family planning, often influenced by cultural norms and theological beliefs. Some view birth control as a practical tool for managing family life, while others question if it aligns with God’s design for marriage and procreation.

In exploring this topic, it’s essential to consider what the Bible says about children, marriage, and our responsibility to honor God with our decisions. While Scripture doesn’t directly mention modern birth control, it does emphasize that children are a blessing from the Lord. For example, Psalm 127:3-5 states, “Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.” Similarly, Psalm 128:3-4 blesses those with fruitful families. These passages highlight the value God places on children and speak to issues of stewardship, responsibility, and trust in His provision.

What do you think? Should Christians use birth control?

The fact you are posting anything by Mark Driscoll is disgusting.
If he is a point of reference. I will bow out of this discussion.

That’s why I chose several different articles…Mark would not be my first choice.

There are two other articles and, what I hope anyway, is a topic worth discussing.

It was quite popular in the old forums.

In that case, I think birth control is a great way to keep families off of welfare. And I have known a lot of quiverfull adherents who were on welfare, pumping out kids like Duggars without Duggar money. MY taxes pay for their upkeep :rage:

Then the father takes off leaving the head covering, ill educated wife holding the bag.

And, if implanted birth control is required to get federal aid, the abortion numbers will drop as well as illegitimate birth rates.

I despise quiverfull nonsense and the arrogance of the “we let God choose our birth control “ rhetoric.
