We often think of serving God in terms of prayer, worship, ministry, or helping others. But most of our lives are spent doing much more ordinary things—working, cooking, cleaning, caring for family, running errands, or taking care of responsibilities.
Can those everyday tasks also be ways of serving God?
What makes an ordinary activity an expression of faith rather than simply another item on our to-do list?

Absolutely. I think so much of our humanity is wrapped up in the mundane, ordinary tasks of daily life. It’s mostly those things that make up our days and weeks and months and years. I think it’s like the Parable of the Mustard Seed—if we are faithful in a little, God will entrust more to us (and vice-versa).
Washing dishes, changing a diaper, writing an email, making dinner, fixing a tire can all be opportunities to serve God and bless others.
The apostle Paul told us to pray constantly (1 Thessalonians 5:17), so no matter what we are doing, we should be in prayer.
The answer is easy and in the Word of God.
“And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” Colossians 3:17
But do we, as children of the Most High in Christ Jesus, when we are working, cooking, cleaning, caring for family, running errands, or taking care of responsibilities?
