Christian Marriage Counseling or Issue-Specific Counseling?

I’m debating what type of counseling would be best for my relationship - I know it’s definitely a case-by-case basis type question, but does anyone have any experience or insight on whether Christian marriage counseling or issue-specific counseling is better for nurturing a faith-filled marriage?

Christian marriage counseling can help root your relationship in Scripture and prayer, which is vital for a faith-filled marriage. But if there’s a specific issue like trauma, addiction, or communication breakdown, sometimes a biblical counselor with expertise in that area is best. Ideally, look for someone who offers both sound theology and practical wisdom.
