This thread will be reserved for polite discussion on American (and sometimes Canadian, or on Tuesdays-- Mexican) politics. Here I hope to raise some interesting tidbits that you may or may not have heard about, particularly in President Trump’s exciting first week or two of action items. There has been so much to keep up with that traditional anti-Trump mainstream media has fallen off-balance in their attempts to focus on the things that so trigger them. They can’t decide when or where to be outraged.
So let’s look at a few instances… Starting with what might be the single greatest and most important act of all-- the Department of Government Efficiency. -It gives us hope for a financially responsible future…
DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency) has been on the job for only two weeks and in that short span, have slashed about $1 Billion per day. A billion dollars per day of wasteful government spending, and they’ve accomplished this without even breaking a sweat.
By focusing on empty Government office buildings and ridiculous DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) policies DOGE already saves US taxpayers these billions mostly from eliminating unnecessary positions and by stopping improper payments to foreign organizations-- like $45 Million for DEI scholarships in Burma. How about $520 Million for ESG (Environmental, Social Governance --Climate Engineering) is Africa? Or $1.2 Billion spent and sent by our Government to “undisclosed recipients?”
Most of these funds get funneled through the deep state department of unelected bureaucrats-- quite literally- The State Department and it’s USAID programs. The State Department’s annual budget tops $56 Billion, and they spend more that $40 Billion of it on USAID in foreign countries. This while America is Trillions of dollars in debt.
We are a leaky ship-- America… and we can’t come rescue anybody anywhere until we fix our boat and right the ship.

The whole USAID cabal is in flames. People are awakening to the fact that there is no aid in USAID. The organization was nothing more than a front for government agencies to do the nefarious things that governments are not allowed to do. Groups including the CIA used USAID as a slush fund account to topple foreign governments and interfere with foreign elections all over the world. It’s a major scandal and cause for national shame that we’ve let this all go on under our noses for so long.
It’s over, thanks to Trump and Elon- the boy wonder of this dynamic duo.
Staffers of the U.S. Agency for International Development were instructed to stay out of the agency’s Washington headquarters on Monday, according to a notice distributed to them, after billionaire Elon Musk announced President Donald Trump had agreed with him to shut the agency.
USAID staffers said they tracked 600 employees who reported being locked out of the agency’s computer systems overnight. Those still in the system received emails in the agency system saying that “at the direction of Agency leadership” the headquarters building “will be closed to Agency personnel on Monday, Feb. 3.” (NewsMax)
