@stephynejohnson, I had an addiction to chocolate for a long time when I would binge on it. However, I began praying persistently for God to replace my impulsiveness with his fruit of the Spirit self-control over my chocolate addiction through the power Jesus released to me by his death and resurrection. After many of my prayers, he did more than I asked for.
He gave me self-control over not only chocolate but all food so that I now eat two meals a day while drinking only water in between. Good health is now the goal of my eating and drinking, not pleasure, though pleasure is an occasional side-benefit. I eat a little chocolate at the first meal, but Jesus’ victory freed me from that addiction!
I’ll put you on my prayer list for similar victory.
