Depression an anxiety

I am having problems with my old depression and anxiety… our only daughter was killed in a car accident at the age of 38 recently. We won’t get her ashes back until the end of November. I am crying and screaming a lot and blaming God for allowing this to happen. Her dog and one of my dogs also died this year. So, as you can see, it’s been a very rough year. My wife and I are both 69…I take a lot of antidepressants because I have PTSD and have dealt with it for over 25 years.
I don’t understand why God let this happen.?..We are both born-again Christians…maybe you can help me understand this.

jonesy1760, I am so sorry for your losses. I do not know why God allowed this to happen, but I will pray for you and your wife. May I suggest reading the Psalms in the Bible? I think they may bring some comfort.

I’m so sorry for your loss.

Lord, this grief is too deep for words. You see this brokenhearted father, mourning his daughter, burdened by loss, fear, and pain. Lord, he doesn’t understand why this happened, and neither do we. But we ask You to draw near, to hold him and his wife in their sorrow, and to remind them that You have not left them.

Bring comfort where there is anguish. Bring light into the darkness. Carry them, Lord, when they cannot walk. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thank you, your words are of great comfort.

Thank you, your words are of great comfort.

We don’t always get answers as to why God did or didn’t do certain things. But we can know for sure that God is in control and is with us in the middle of our trials. Refuge yourself in Him. Find comfort, peace and strength in Him. We are praying for you and your wife.

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.”

Isaiah 43:2
