I mean It’s hard to live with depression alone.
Hi Keith, I’m sure it is hard. I hope you’re getting help when you need it. I’ve been depressed before so I can sympathize with you, but I haven’t had depression.
A lot of Christians, even famous names have had to deal with depression. Charles Spurgeon was one of them. He was known as the Prince of Preachers. I know he talked about it and I wonder if there’s a book about his life that describes how he dealt with it. That would be an interesting and helpful read.
I have a friend who’s been on medication for depression for many years. She’s a lovely lady and thoughtful of others. She also lives alone so I should ask her what she does to cope.
Stay strong Keith. Life is a gift and God didn’t incorporate a return counter. You have much to contribute. Each of us do in our own way. I’ll pray for you right now.
A Prayer to Renew Your Mind
Hear me and answer me. My thoughts trouble me and I am distraught.
Dear Lord Jesus, I long to be transformed and renewed. I know that begins with my thoughts. While I want to put my old self away and be the person You created me to be, full of truth and light, I sadly fall into disillusionment and so often feed into the lies of the enemy.
So, God, I first ask for Your forgiveness when I fall short, entertain those destructive thoughts, and surrender myself to You.
I seek Your power that comes in the form of the Holy Spirit. Help lead, guide, direct, and transform my mind. Let me ponder on what is true, good, pure, and right. I ask this in Your precious Name. Amen.
Here are some Bible verses to lift you up in times when you feel down:
Thank you so much. I have a hard time living with depression, though I believe that Jesus knows the best and this tribulation is for good. Wish me good luck. Keep me in your prayers. Thank you, my friend.
Amen. Thank you so much.
