Ok so the bible says God created the heaven and the earth. He created the stars and everything in this universe, or was it galaxy? He created the sun and moon and then there was day and night. I dont know if igot it right or not? was it universe or galaxy?
well regardless i believe there is life out there other than here on earth. But just because i believe that doesnt make it true or not. But show me in the bible where it says there is no other life than here on earth and i will change what i believe when it comes to that. There may be life out there that we do not know about that God created. the universe is big and maybe even bigger than we know, we can only see as far as the telescopes will allow us. But i believe there is other life besides here on earth and only God knows even though i believe the goverment has kept important info from us and other life form has found us
Truthfully, I was going to say it doesn’t matter. But then God showed me it actually does. If you say it means God created our galaxy, then it opens the door for Who created the rest? Is there a God for every universe? Is evolution happening as we speak on another planet? Are there people like us on other planets? Are they discussing what to have for dinner as we are?
Again, I ask, if we are the only intelligent life in the universe, one God help us. What would be the point in the vastness of space and the billions of Billions of Stars and planets? Some we will never even see? But if you read this.
“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” Genesis 1:1
Then you read things like this.
“When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,” Psalm 8:3
It makes it pretty clear that it means universe.

Well… I think they took it down. I saw it the day before yesterday on either CNN or FOX where NASA relased something about finding a “tenacle” growing on the outside of the ISS. Now I can’t find it.
Conspiracy!
As the poster on Fox Mulder’s wall on “the X-Files” says, “The truth is out there.”
Seriously though, If anyone happens across the article I’m talking about, please post it.
Absolutely and Amen!! Jesus is Lord of the universe, not just us. Is there? Is there not? We may only know the total truth when we are with our Father.
Peter
Thank’s for trying, but it’s not what I saw. I think someone was trying for an early prank or something, it was gone within hours. This specifcally said growing on the outter hull of the ISS and it was definately not a potato. lol
Paul never says Jesus is “the god of this world”. St. Paul calls the devil the “god of this world” by which he means the fallen order of things–not that the devil is a god, or has any real ownership over God’s good creation. It’s about the fallenness of the world, Christ came to redeem us from this, and to put to rights all creation through Himself.
As for whether aliens exist. That’s not a question anyone is capable of answering.
It is, however, safe to say that given the natural laws of the universe as best as we’ve been able to understand them, that “aliens” have never visited Earth. In spite of UFO sightings, there’s no evidence that UFOs present any kind of demonstrable evidence of extraterrestrial intelligence somewhere out there.
As best as we can tell, the universe has a natural speed limit, it’s the speed of light. Nothing with mass can travel beyond the speed of light. And as something with mass approaches the speed of light (which is always constant in a vacuum) weird things start to happen. That puts a huge damper on the science fiction dream of traveling to distant stars. Even our nearest neighbor, Proxima Centauri, is so far away that even at just a few light years distance it would still take thousands of years to reach based on current technology–super advanced technology could reduce that to centuries.
Thanks JennyLynne for the article. Who knew reading about aliens would make you hungry for tacos.
I particularly enjoyed this following quote from the article…
“If you believe in angels and demons, you believe that there are non-human creatures living in God’s universe”
So true.
It’s hard for some people to grasp anything alien to them, so think of it like this. If you have only seen daylight, and all you’ve known is daylight, anyone coming to you talking about a darkness would be looked at as ‘touched’ or crazy. But if light exists, the opposite (absence of light) should too.
Take Noah for example, he had never seen or heard of rain. Nor had anyone else at the time and they all thought him building the arc was crazy. Noah, in his faith, took God at his word.
So just because you can’t imagine it does not mean God didn’t.
