Do You Ever Pray Without Words?

I was thinking the other day about how sometimes my prayers come out as full sentences… and other times they’re just feelings, sighs, or moments where I’m simply sitting with God because I don’t know what to say.

I wonder if others experience that too.

Do you ever pray without words, just resting in God’s presence?
And if so, what does that time feel like for you?

I have, but rarely, “prayed without words.” This usually happens when I am overwrought about a difficult situation or when I am exhausted.

Yes, I’ve experienced that too. Sometimes my heart is so full, or so heavy, that I don’t have the words. In those quiet moments, I take comfort in Romans 8:26: “The Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.”

Yes. Sometimes we just need to be still and remember, He is our Father God. And as Jesus stated.

“Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.” Matthew 6:8

Also, God tells us this.

“I the Lord search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds." Jeremiah 17:10

Sometimes, we really do not know what to pray. What we think is good for us may not be. Trust in God.
